She's a chocolate female about 2-4 years old, and she looks so sad to be in one of the worst high kill shelters in North Carolina. This shelter kills EVERY animal in their facility EVERY Wednesday.

There is a doodle backyard breeder somewhere in Harnett County that keeps breeding and dumping dogs at the shelter where they are killed if they aren't pulled or rescued. It makes me so angry!!!!

I just hugged the snot out of her. And pulled off another 2 ticks. She's getting lots of calm attention from me tonight, then she'll be on a plane to Frannie tomorrow.

She came out of her shell after about an hour with me, but is still fearful of my boyfriend, Joseph. She's ok with him if he sits or kneels, but not when he's standing. I suppose that's relatively common!

I wonder if she has been abused?  Possibly by a man?
Webber, who was not abused, did that to my son when he first met him.  If Josh stood, Webber  barked, if he got down on Webber's level, it was all OK.

This girl doesn't bark at Joseph. In fact, I haven't heard a peep out of her at all. The blond girl was quite outspoken at the shelter, but choco girl hasn't made a sound.

She just cowers. And if she can, she runs away in a crouching position.

What a beautiful, sad little girl. My heart just did a little leap of joy when I read she was on her way to Frannie. Here's hoping that Frannie and Callie can bring the light back to those sad eyes.
I hope so! She needs so much attention. I wish I could keep her and give her a good, loving foster home here!! She's just so sweet.
It was heartbreaking to see her climb between the metal rods of the clothes rack, just because it felt safe. I have a crate and it's available to her for tonight, but it's a tiny bit too small, so she can sleep anywhere she wants tonight. I put down lots of blankets and towels in several locations, and the floor is clean and cool.
She looks so sweet, and so sad. Poor girl... I am excited that she gets to go to Frannie and start over though!
this girl is seriously cute!

I think she looks like a Goldendoodle.  Why is she now flying rather than the Doodle Train?  Just curious.  I am so glad Frannie is taking her.  She looks so sweet and sad.  Once she gets into a happy household and is treated like she should be, she is going to make someone a wonderful pet!  She is one gorgeous Doodle!

Michael...everything they say about you is true

We couldn't get the Raleigh-Charlotte leg covered today, and if she couldn't get going today it would be another week before Frannie could meet in SC to take her. That would mean she'd have to board at the vet, costing the DRC lots of money, or she'd have to stay with me and I work and go to school. Also, I have Sunny who was a little too overwhelming for this scared girl.
Michael, if I could award you an additional spring break I would. You are amazing!
