Anyone know how to get these huge, chalky pills down my very picky pups. I have tried crushing them and putting them in their food...they leave their food. They are too big to swallow whole, but the stinkers will not chew them????

I always like to make a peanut butter slurry for huge pills. I put some peanut butter in a bowl and put water into it until it is basically just peanut butter water mix the pills in and then pour it over the food!

I just made a post about glucosamine the other day... No one responded LOL.....I should have put it on the main forum...Jack is on 500 Mgs of it....in theory it is a chewable pill made for dogs...he ate it the first two days..today he wouldn't budge with it....

I had to crush it up, it crumbled easily, mix it in some yummy food mixed with his kibble and he ate it.... We will see what tomorrow brings......we tried a taste of cream cheese he wouldn't do it.
I've just dealt with this and have switched to Synflex which is in liquid form. Much easier and it looks good from what I can see.

I give Wally one liver-flavored Dasuquin with MSM every morning.  Apparently, they're quite delicious, because he happily chews up his tablet each time.

My two will eat anything wrapped in sliced cheese. Just a tiny enough piece to wrap around the pill to hide it because these buggers are so stinkin smart. They see it and there is no way they will eat it.

I break up Finn's Dasaquin chew and mix it in with his food.

Thanks everyone, I guess there is no easy way. We all have a bunch of fussy pups. I think I may have to try the tasty Dasquin chew but the other tabs were pricey and I hate to waste them....

Try the peanut butter slurry until the other ones are gone! It works for the monthly trifexis!

What works for us is to make a small peanut butter blob with the pill at the core.

We use peanut butter when we're having a hard time getting them to take pills.

I am not advertising this as we have just started it but it is easy to give and is not expensive (IMO) Boris will be on supplements for the rest of his life for OCD and I had to find something easy.
