Happy First Birthday Jake!

Our rescue Jake turns 1 today. I found out from his former owner that Jake's birthday is Feb. 15th. I still remember the day Jake came into our lives: a playdate at our house that turned into the owner just relinquishing him to us on the spot. I remember my husband's worry (and now they are the best of buds!). Jake was timid and scared. He had so many mats, his diet was not good and he hoarded water because he was stuck in his crate daily for so long in his previous life. Its amazing how far he has come in 5 months. Thanks to everyone who helped us out with encouragement when Jake came into our lives. We are still working on things but he is such a good, outgoing and kind dog. Although we never thought we would be getting a rescue, its been a blessing as I know many why have rescue doods can attest to. Happy Birthday Jake! Big hugs to an awesome family and big brother Brisbee too! This has really been a happy ending come true for Jake. It brings tears to my eyes, thinking that a dog tries to hoard water.
