I am interested to hear how everyone named their dog..... I named my dog after James Cagney... Cagney is his name and we named him that because we love the old James Cagney movie... please share some stories on how you named your doodle.....
after tossing around many names we called our chocolate labradoodle Cooper, even though she is a girl. Cooper is my maiden name - we were planning our wedding at the time
After much research and deliberation, we finally named our dog "Tori" because she is part Australian shepherd. Tori means "elegant" in the Aborigine language. And we think she's 'elegant' - LOL ~ shelly
P.S. We named our last dog went days without a name, and finally we named our Golden Retriever Swayze after the wonderfulPatrick Swayze. He was even 'light on his feet' too just like his namesake ---- all 125 pounds of him! (Miss them both)
We wanted to name our doodle after a famous scientist. Our first choice was Newton but we were afraid it would sound ridiculous because of where we are from. "Newt'n" Darn that Utah accent! We went with Darwin instead. Although I have to say, Darwin suits him perfectly.
I always wondered how Sherlock got his name. It is really unusual and I haven't heard it used before. I haven't heard of another Noah either, actually. I like your vacation names; I can really picture a Maui, D.C., Dallas... I hadn't thought of those. My current favs are jewels/rocks - Opal, Garnet, Mica; or food - Olive, Mango.
