I know this has been asked before, but can we do an update on how old everyone's doodles are? Does anyone know how old they get to be and what the most common health issues are with their aging?

Calla is just three and Luca will be 4 next month. They are both thankfully healthy.

Not sure how old Callie is, but we'll be having her 3rd "Gotcha" Day in April, so she's probably somewhere between 4 and 5.

Have you noticed a big change in her activity in the past yr or two?

Sort of...she loves to play, but doesn't just HAVE to all the time any longer (if that makes sense).

Monty will be 2 in March. His tummy used to be a lot more sensitive when he was just a little dood. Doing much better now.

Lucca is almost 3 1/2 and Izzy is almost 1 1/2.

The life span of the minis is going to be considerably longer than that of the standards on average. It is not at all unusual to find 16 and 17 year old miniature poodles, (and I've heard of 18 and 20 year old toys), but you will be hard pressed to find standards that age. I would say 14 is about as old as a standard is going to get.

Jackdoodle is 7 years old and has never been healthy.

Arthritis and joint problems are common in dogs as they age, especially large dogs. Any age-related issues that affect Poodles, Labs and Goldens are going to affect doodles. Dogs are not much different from people in the sense that all their body parts get old and start to malfunction, just like ours, lol. Kidney problems, liver problems, these are also common in older dogs.

How old is the oldest doodle anyone has ever heard of? I keep coming up with 12-13 yrs old in my reading. Thanks Karen for the info too. I figured you'd know more about it and post. Glad you did.

I think we had a discussion on this a couple years ago. We went on a search for the oldest dood on DK. It will be interesting to see how old they are now.

Jack is going to be three in March. He is considered a small dog. He weighs 14 pounds. Jack has had urinary issues, other health issues that they have linked to him reacting to me being sick. I don't know if they count as real health issues or not! He also has had thickened bowel loops and loose stool constipation issues.

I google way to often the life expectancy of Toy doodles, nothing comes up. I only see it grouped by weight. Jack has a lot of poodle in him so I watch for cataracts, subluxed knees, bad teeth, things like that when he gets older. No one has a clue really what is going to happen. I live by the policy that I treasure each day like it was our last, I do that for people too!!

My dog is so clueless and so not afraid to walk out i front of a car, he scares me.
Curious, I have an F1b that is shy of 12 wks. And is apprx 4.5lbs. Now. I am hoping she doesn't get much bigger than 12-15...her breeder referred to her as a petite....her Dad was 5.5 lbs of poodle...that's a Toy vs. miniature, right?
Could you share Jacks parents sizes, plz. Just trying to get a little perspective here. Thanx in advance

Tomorrow is  Samantha's 4th birthday and Mickey, my GrandDoodle, will be 3. They both have the same birthday and they both came from PMs but different ones.

Both are healthy (keeping paws crossed) and happy doodles.

Samantha has gotten more playful with Charli as she has gotten older. She also has a boyfriend, Sully. Sully is Jeannine Smith's doodle. He is truly the only other dog that she has ever gave a play bow to in order for him to play with her!  I can't blame her, he is one big, sexy doodle!

I wish I could stop the clock and they wouldn't get any older.
