Can anyone give me any information on my Doodle's coat color? I have spent a little time looking on the internet but so far I haven't found anything. I hope her colors don't change much but from what I've read about Goldendoodles it could change quite a bit. Thanks for the help!
Thank you so much for your answer to this question Joyce! I have been trying to find out what my mini goldendoodle's color really is for a long time! I thought she was a phantom, because when she was very young she had the right markings, but as she got older the markings seem to fade. I now think she must be a black tipped sable, not sure about the mask part, but she's definitely not a brindle by your definition. Nor would she be a phantom as the mixture of colors is so very different now than when she was a puppy. I'll try to attach some pictures to show what I mean.......I do think you are right about Ann's adorable puppy as well.
Oh the cute... I can't wait to watch these beautiful colored pups grow up. Someone should start a group for these unusual colored pups - it would make it easier for us to watch them grow up.
Thanks for the information everyone! I'll keep posting pictures and we'll see what Sheba's coat looks like as time goes by.
I am supposed to be getting ready for a trip to Utah. We are leaving Saturday morning. My pup is going with us. I've never traveled with a dog before. I hope she is ready for a 1,600 mile trip in our truck. I think it will take about 26 hrs. driving time. All I want to do is check out this site! I would like to respond to each of your replies, so be patient! Again, thanks so much for taking the time to reply...gotta get cleaning and packing! Ann Giesige
Looks like a sable, encoded by the agouti wild type gene. Most commonly found in wolves, and German Shepards. Rare in doodles, and Very Very Very beautiful.
Wow, her colouring looks like a German Sheppard puppy. I have never seen a Golden Doodle like her!! I love her colour-so unusual. She may blend into something different as she gets older.
