Is walking between legs a Doodle Thing?

We always noticed that Holly will walk under our legs but, our rescue doodles, Sophie, Skye and even the puppy, Zoe, have a thing about walking between our legs and often just stopping there. It seems like this is a way of showing or getting affection...

 

Our Maltese do not do this with any regularity...

 

Doodles also walk between other Doodles legs when they can.  Skye walks under Holly's legs while Zoe walks under the legs of all three of the big Doodles...

Yes, it must be a Doodle thing because Bo does it too.  I sometimes wonder if he's part cat as he loves to rub up against and walk through my legs!  I've never had a dog do this before.  I love it though :-))

hmm, Sophie never does this. I try to get her to do it when we are playing but she always goes around...

Wilson loves to try and go under my legs especially when I am cleaning off his Paws !!!  He gets stuck  I am rather short !

Luna makes figure 8's around peoples' legs in greeting... and if I'm sitting on a low chair (ottoman) she goes under my knees.. even if she doesn't really fit there.

My dog will also go under my knees when I am sitting down.  She will do this over and over again.  It has to be like a back rub for her.  I am short so her back is really up against the back of my legs.  She is an all around cuddly, leaner dog so I look at this behavior and the walking thru the legs (over and over again) as part of her giving/getting affection.

Roo and Tigger both love to walk under anyone's legs who will stand for it.  My huskies did not do this even as puppies.  But then they didn't rub their backs and faces on the rugs and bedspreads either.  Might just be doodling around.

[Dot, Maggie and KoKo]

KoKo does this too.  She also doesn't just sleep at my feet she gets behind my legs so she's between me and my chair.  She goes under poor Maggie all the time and since Maggie is so much smaller and lighter than Koko she gets lifted up off the ground.  Funny to watch.

 

I just realized that as I am typing this KoKo is sleeping between my feet.  She always has to be close and touching..
