Let's talk tails

Lucy and Ethel have very different tails and it made me wonder what everyone else's doodle's tails look like.  Lucy's tail curls up nicely and is very full.  Ethel's is like a hairy stick.  What gives?

Here is Rua at 4 months...no plum. 

 

She went to the groomers right after she was 6 months old, but I told them not to touch her tail.  It was just starting to grow.

Oh Dori - This reminds me so much of my little sister.  She was a bald (very bald!) baby and I (a year older) had lots of curly hair.  When she was three years old, she finally had enough hair for my mom to cut a few bangs for her.  She cried afterwards and said she didn't like the bangs and I told her I would fix it for her.  I stood her up on the little vanity in my mom's bedroom and took a scissors and cut off all her bangs.  She liked it, but then it was my mother's turn to cry.

That is nice to hear!  Zach is beautiful, but his tail is less than impressive - he is only 11 weeks so I figure the dazzle just hasn't worked its way to his tail yet????

I think Ethel's tail will fill in more.  She is still pretty young.  The Doodles I know don't really start to show their tails until a year old and up to two years.  My Gracie Doodle is also a GoldenDoodle and she had the rod for the first year and then feathers started coming in.  She now has the most beautiful huge plume you have ever seen at 4 years old.  It is totally a Golden Retriever tail.  She is an F1 Standard.

At the moment all we have is a hairy stick.... We will wait and see as Kosci gets older if the hair will get longer.
