That doesn't exactly ryhme, but it's the best I could do off the top of my head.

On Saturday or Sunday, my Mom and I both felt a large lump on Halas' right hip.  I think I had felt it before, but I could only feel that side at the time, so I just thought it was muscle.  But this weekend, I could feel both hips at once, and there is definitely a large lump on his right side that he doesn't have on his left side.  If something looks or feels strange to me, and there's not a corresponding strange thing on the opposite side, I figure it shouldn't be there.  So I called the vet this morning, and they got him in at 10:00.  They aspirated it, checked it under the microscope, and said it's just a lipoma.  Whew!  I kind of figured that's what it was, but it was good to get the confirmation.  They said it's possible he will get more, so I should be ready for that, although he is kind of young to be getting them.  Otherwise, I'm just keeping an eye on this one.  If it seems like it's causing him discomfort, or it starts to harden, they will consider removing it.

With all of his fluff, it's not the easiest thing to notice, so it looks like I'll have to spend more time petting him to check him for more of them.  I think he'll be OK with that.

I'm calling it his heffalump, because that sounds better than lipoma or fatty tumor.

Oh Leslie, I'm so glad that's all it was.

I am very glad that is all it was. What a good excuse for petting :-)

JD has at least half a dozen lipomas; they've never caused any problems, knock on wood. Glad that's all it is.

Leslie, So glad that was all it was, and I agree, I would prefer heffalump to fatty tumor :)

Glad that it was just that, and I love what you have decided to call it. :-)

Always GLAD when there is a good out come!!!

Glad it is just a Heffalump!  ;>)  I am sure Halas will love it when you search for more of them!  Just call it his massage time!

Oh yes....heffalump has  a much nice ring!    Lucky Halas...gettin more lovin!    Glad all is well.

I am constantly feeling for these lumps on Murphy as his brother has one rather large one on his hip, so Im thinking it might run in the family. It has been aspirated, but fills right back up and doesn't bother him apparently. I just like giving my guys massages and watching their eyes slowly close like they are in a trance. No lumps so far, but two very calm doodles here.

So glad it's nothing more than a "heffalump"

Leslie start giving him Beta Glucan 1,3,6.  It is an immunity booster/anti-tumor.  We have been giving it to all of our current dogs since we brought them home.  It is all natural and relatively cheap.  Will help with heffalumps and will not hurt Halas

Leslie, I'm so glad that Halas doesn't have something more serious!

Suzanne, Thank you for the tip. Kona has a huge fatty tumor on his side. I believe it is growing very slowly, It fits in the palm of my hand. I will try the Beta Glucan 1,3,6. Maybe it will stop the growing anyway.
