My pug Ozzy died.

I thought all of you should know that Ozzy died a couple of days ago from cancer.I never saw any signs of it until 4 days before he died.It  was like he got hit by a bus or something.Im still in shock.My family came to stay with me for a few days to help me out.But now they are gone and im sitting here with Dakota and losing my mind.My family told me that i need another dog but I dont know.Im not sure of anything right now.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Jared.  I lost my pug years ago to cancer also.  It hit her very quickly as well, but I was relieved to not have to see her suffer for so long. Prayers for you and Dakota from me, Seamus, and Stella.

Oh no, I'm so sorry, Jared. This must be really hard. Just know that Ozzy had a happy life and did not suffer. Please try to take care of yourself and Dakota. You both need each other right now very much. Hugs to you both!

Oh Jared, I am so sorry.  It is so painful to lose a dog and worse when you are unprepared.  I lost a dog to liver cancer that way. One morning he seemed a little off and by the next morning he died in the vet's arms.  It makes Dakota doubly precious to you.  Don't get another dog until you are ready.  Sometimes it takes a long time.  You will know when you are ready to risk loving another dog.  Just enjoy Dakota for awhile.

Jared, I hope today you get outside and take Dakota for a walk. You will both feel better. I am sorry you are hurting so badly. It is the worst thing about dogs...you almost always lose them before you are ready. You gave Ozzy a good life and Dakota is confused and needs you now. Take a walk, throw the ball for her....lots of hugs....take comfort in her....make her feel like it will be ok...you can do it, Jared! We are all here for you!

Oh Jared.... I'm so sorry for your loss, it is so difficult to loose a pet.  Take time to greave and heal from this loose, don't make any qick decisions at this point.  When I lost one of my two dogs years ago having another dog did help with the healing process.  Ozzy will always be in your heart !!!  Sending you a big doodle hug !!!

Jared, my heart breaks for you. I know what you feel and it is horrific. My Cassie died 3 1/2 months ago after a long fight with mast cell tumors and the tears now have mostly stopped except when I read of other dogs in trouble. The tears fall again for all dog owners hurting. It is not easy but it did help to walk, I took Cassie's collar and we walked and walked. God bless you. Take Dakota out and walk.

I am so sorry to hear about Ozzy. My heart breaks for you as I know the pain of losing a beloved dog. They bring so much joy to our lives. I wish I knew of some magical advice that could lessen your pain. :-(

Ozzy will always hold a special place in your heart. If nothing else, I hope you can take comfort in knowing you provided a wonderful, loving home and life for him.
