New Doodle Already...

This is so not what we'd planned, but we welcomed a new Doodle into our home yesterday. Who knew dogs could be unplanned?

A couple from our church approached us. They have a 10 month old labradoodle named Sky. Their elderly father recently had to move in with them. Unfortunately Sky tends to get underfoot and he's tripped over her a few times and last time got hurt. They've been lockin her up in their laundry room all day because they didn't have another way to separate them.

They said they'd been praying on what to do and didn't want to re-home her but felt like thy had no other choice. Then they'd heard our Maizy passed away and wondered if we'd be willing to take in Sky. My husband (who is not a dog person at all) told me he felt like it was meant to be and a sign from Maizy.

The kicker is.... Sky is Maizy's daughter. No joke! Maizy was pregnant when we met her and Sky was one of those puppies. Crazy huh??

Sky is your typical 10 month old puppy, she's hyper, chewy and adorable. She fits right in with our 2 and 4 year old human kids. She needs some training on leash behavior and jumping, etc. but she's a sweetie!

Addison's is very treatable so try not to worry too much.  The problem is that most people are not familiar with it and not looking for it to manifest.  You will know what to look for now and get Sky treatment if she falls ill.

I have always felt that our dogs find us. Sky was born to be with you and those lovely people took care of her for you until you and Maizy could send her. This is a "meant to be" union if ever there was one. You are all blessed. God always answers our prayers.

I didn't know Maizy had passed until I saw this new thread (I was out of the office Friday and for some reason just didn't check in to DK over the weekend).  I did go back to read your post from Friday and am so, so sad for your loss.  I have no doubt that Maizy sent Sky to you, so my tears are a mix of happy and sad.  But I am thrilled that you have another doodle to love who will help heal your heart!
