Toby, who is nearly 2 1/2, has never had an accident in his crate. He's only in it to sleep at night, and it's in our room. This morning I heard scratching around at 8:00 a.m. He can normally sleep in there till 9, easily, if we are sleeping in. I got up and smelled something. He was standing up, which was also odd. I let him out and he RACED to the back door, me running after him. He went out and peed, ran around the yard, peed again, pooped twice, ran around the yard, and came in. Upon further investigation, I found that I guess when he stood up he peed a bit in his crate. Gross. So into the wash went his blanket, with some bleach. Into the tub went the plastic tray, scrubbed down with disinfectant and bleach. That was a fantastic way to start 2011. :(
It's been raining here a lot, so all I can guess is that when he was in and out in the evening he slurped up too many puddles. I know he ate some mud, based on the colour of his water in his dish when he came in the house. His routine was no different - we were home last night. Oh well, love my dog, love his accidents, I guess. Happy New Year, everyone!

Poor Toby...I am sure he felt really bad about that. Can just picture what his water dish would look like after eating mud. Happy New Year to you and your family!
What do you mean a bang? I would say it started off with a dribble! :) Poor Toby just couldn't hold it any more. It happens.
Happy New Year Sandy!
