because Stuart is ALL GROWN UP! Sure I have another 6 months to belong to puppy madness group because Stuart is only 1.5 yrs old but today he got his 1st hair cut. Sure he has been trimmed before but never cut and his hair was very long giving him a cartoon look that people just loved but I suddenly knew that it was time to let it go.

The cut is a little choppy I think but there was so much to cut off that he was with the groomer from 8:00 - 1:00 and that next time it will get blended a bit better. I'm sad that the cartoon look is gone but I'm happy for Stuart as this has to feel so much better and I think he is still adorable!!!
He looks so great! The groomer did such a good job and he still looks adorably doodley!
He looks great, and it's still a pretty long coat!
It WAS 12 inches long in some areas - so this is looking pretty short to us - LOL. Plus it will look different once the fluffy is worn off and the dreads come back.
Wow! Halas' got to about 8 inches in some areas before his first big haircut, and I could have brushed that for an hour each day and not been able to keep up with the matting. I haven't let it get that long since then. I look back at that first big haircut and I remember thinking that it looked so short at the time. Now I look at those same pictures, and it looks normal to me.
He is still adorable. I can't belive you could go year and half without a haircut. Monty had his first haircut at 6 months, but he's got a different hair. Auggie might be like your Stuart (fingers crossed). :-)
Stuart is adorable any way you slice cut it!
He looks beautiful ! So silky and soft. Makes me feel guilty because Finnley is only six months, and I'm bringing her to the groomer tomorrow for her first real haircut. She was spayed about a month ago, and they did some odd shaving, plus I want her to look great for Thanksgiving. My daughter is coming to visit, and they haven't met yet. It's very exciting ! Hope Finnley gets a nice look like Stuart's !
My gosh, Stuart looks even cuter if that's even possible. :>)
What an adorable expression!! yes, too cute!! The groomer did a great job! Did they use scissors?
Ginny - I'm no groomer so I'll have to ask her as she will be back tomorrow to do Rooney (in her mobile van). But we have very sad news - she is retiring as of 1/1/13 so now we have to find a new groomer - very sad as the boys adore her!
Ugh, I hate finding a new groomer.
