I think Bo is gorgeous, even if he isn't QUITE a doodle--love his black and white color scheme and his thick, luxurious looking coat. This photo essay has pics of Bo during his first "term" in the White House--very cute, but looks like President Obama needs some lessons about how to control a dog on a leash!!

He is gorgeous.  In the one pic where he is pulling the president, Michelle looks like she is giving him instructions (like I do!) "don't let him pull you, make him heel." LOL

My daughter's boyfriend worked in the WH and has told me that all Presidential dogs have an "in house" "handler" who basically trains and cares for the dogs.

He is so cute, Great markings too. The leash pull is funny -Brucegirl I too thought Mrs Obama was telling him what to do. (get that dog under control)

Loved this.... I really liked the photo on Airforce one. There is something about seeing the president relaxed and playing with Bo on this exceptional Aircraft that seems fascinating and like it was a candid and not so posed :)

Many years ago I worked in Protocol at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas.  We had an Air Force Captain that came in to help us with a really large event that the base was hosting.  She used to be a flight attendant on Air Force One back in the Bush #1 days.  She used to complain about their dogs all the time and the things that she had to do for "the dogs".

Looks like Bo needs to use a Gentle Leader when walking with the President!  Love all the photos.  When I'm out with Pebbles alot of people think she is a Portugese Water Dog!
