Hi everyone!  I was thinking of ordering Cooper a dog bed from Orvis.com.  It's the "Deep Dish Dog Bed" with memory foam.  I was wondering if any of your doodle has this bed and if he/she likes it.  It has very good reviews.  I bought Cooper a rectangular bed from PetSmart.  He doesn't sleep on it but uses it as a pillow while he is laying on the wood floor.  I thought if I get him the deep dish bed, he can use the side as a pillow.  Thanks in advance for any input!Alternate View

Thanks Laurie! I will look into that website and check out the bed. The Orvis bed has an option for polyester filling. I wonder if I should get that instead of the memory foam??? But being firmer might be a good thing too....hhhmmmm.

So many options and so much to consider! I was looking for something that would fit nicely into the corner of our room, and this fit the bill. It's easy to clean them, too, because the bolstered sides and center pillow both unzip.

I know, so many options!  It's worse than shopping for my own shoes.  lol.  Yes, the fact that we can take it off to wash it is a plus! :)

We have two 'ordinary' dog beds and our dogs lay on them periodically, but Clancy really prefers the floor and Ned prefers our bed or the bottom step of our stairs. Both also like our couch.  I don't think mine care enough to make an expensive bed worth buying, but if they did like dog beds, that is one I would purchase.

LOL thanks Nancy.  Cooper is not allowed on our sofas so I can't really test it out to see if he likes it our not :/  The Orvis bed does look/feel like a sofa.  He will lay on the rectangular bed only when he is ready to come out of the playpen waiting and us to open it.  Well, I haven't ordered it yet, but getting ready to. We'll see what happens the next hour. lol

Jenny: How in the world can you keep a Dood off the couch? Please tell us your secret!

LOL, no secret here.  We never let him from day 1.  I think Cooper was just too short to jump on it when he was little.  It wasn't until just last month (before he turned one) when he jumped on it a few times while playing with my boys.  We quickly told him to get off or pulled the toy from his mouth to get him off. lol.  He still tries to every now and then, but usually just his two front paws go on it.  Sometimes I let it slide :)  He's kind of spoiled.  lol

This looks like such a great bed and if my two slept mostly on the floor or their regular Costco dog bed, then I would definitely consider the investment.

However, since our two are in bed with us 90% of the time, we decided to buy ourselves a Tempur Pedic bed and then we ALL can benefit from it. What I love most is you can't feel them jumping on and off the bed or even feel them during one of their "shaky dream cycles" where they used to rock the whole bed.

I don't feel as though the "memory foam' type mattress would make them hotter though, as ours doesn't make us hotter, but maybe a dog bed would be different ??? IDK

Thanks Sue.  I went ahead and ordered the memory foam one since I think firmer is better.  It'll probably last longer too.  If he doesn't use it now, maybe he'll warm up to it when he becomes a senior. LOL

I thought of this cartoon when you mentioned your dog jumping and rocking the whole bed. LOL

Yes!  The jump alone would wake us by shaking our bladders!!! Love our new bed and i'm sure your lucky dog will love his as well.

:D

I had a husky mix that would jump on the bed and sit on my head!
