Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I told DH was getting pet insurance, end of story! Going with Presidents Choice thanks to Sherri (Sophie, Penelope and Winston) advice and info.
I have another question regarding pet insurance. When you take out insurance do you need to go for a vet visit to prove your dog is healthy? Thats what DH was told. If so thats another $70 we need to come up with...
Also, Cooper is an Australian Labradoodle - should I put poodle mix rather than lab mix, even though its more expensive?

did a search and looks like it is now called petsecure.com. Don't know if it is the same company under different name or whole new company
I have Pet Plan and the website is www.gopetplan.com
no, it's not really the same. sort of, but not. internet reviews weren't very good either.
We also have Pet Plan for Stuart - nothing on Rooney. Put it on Stuart as he came as a rescue from a puppy mill and we had no medical info on his parents. They made the decision on how to classify him - poodle mix or golden mix - I have no idea what they went with. You could have "certain" things checked out at a vet visit that would get waived the waiting period for certain injuries BUT if they found a say hip issue - than that would never be covered under the insurance as it was pre-existing - this was my understanding. So we did NOT do it.
Maybe I am misunderstanding you but Pet Plan does cover hereditary and congenital issues as long as they were not diagnosed prior to signing up for the insurance. They are one of the few that does. Also, if you mention "doodle" when you sign up you are supposed to get an extra discount. Both of my labradoodles have Pet Plan.
