HI there, what can I expect when I go to the airport to pick up our puppy? Any and all suggestions are welcome. We are NEW pet owners, super excited but nervous as well. Is it best to take him out of crate and carry him to the car? Is it best to let him sit on our lap in the car?? Seriously, any and all advice is GREATLY appreciated.

To ALL of you who have responded to my inquiry -- THANK YOU. I am new to the forum and new to adopting a pet. The photo I uploaded is NOT of the puppy we hope to adopt but is just a photo of an adorable red ALD, so I apologize to ALL of you for the confusion. We are in the process of completing the paperwork to adopt a Red ALD that will be 8 weeks when it arrives via plane.

OH!! OK!! That is a relief!! Good luck with your new pup!!

Okay, now I understand.  Have you read all the discussions in the Puppy Madness group about what you're going to need to have for your new puppy?  Also, I'd definitely look at all the discussions about housebreaking and crate training.  Congratulations and I look forward to those puppy pictures.

I'm confused because earlier you posted this...

"hi, the photo i posted is our puppy. we will be picking him up at the airport and he will be 8 weeks old. thanks!!"

Why not post a photo of the puppy your picking up at the airport?

Is Manor Lake Soupy (the dog in your photo) the father of your new puppy? Soupy is the father of my 6 month old puppy Oliver!

NS - Just an FYI.  The photo you posted on your profile looks identical to Manor Lakes Soupy right down the gray bricks he is standing on.  I have two of their puppy's and I know for a fact that all the information on their website is copywrited and you need their consent to reproduce any of it.  I do not mean to be rude, but just saying.
