Good news about Sammi's  recovery!!

From Summer, Sammi's mom:

"Sammi seems to be improving on a daily basis, I even see little bits of his clownish behavior starting to break through; he's much tougher than I ever thought he could be.  Actually, I think Sammi is probably handling all of this better than Steven or me.

This Wednesday, I take Sammi back to the vet hospital for another round of blood tests, the results of which will let us know how well his liver and other organs are healing.  I truly think Sammi is going to recover completely and that is in no small way a direct result of all the wonderful people like you who are praying for Sammi and sending him positive thoughts!  I can't begin to tell you how much we appreciate your concern, sympathy, continued prayers and hopefulness. "

One of our DK doodles, Sammi, was severely injured when he was hit by a car earlier this week.  His mom Summer  and her DH are extremely busy caring for Sammi and with other demands of life so I am posting this request on their behalf to get as much positive and healing energy heading Sammi's way as possible!

Here is a note  from Summer:

"This is every Doodle mom's worst nightmare but with your kind words and extended prayers I know I'll be able to see Sammi through this. What I know is his ribs, liver, kidney and heart were damaged. After being monitored 24-7 at the vet hospitals for two days and nights we have brought Sammi home and I am caring for him here. It seemed more appropriate than my camping out on the floor by his "crate" which I have done for the past two days. I can't believe how lucky we are that Sammi did not sustain head injury and that he is doing this well; it's a miracle!"

Currently, Sammi's condition is very unstable. His doctor is "cautiously optimistic" about his recovery but there are many unknowns in regard to his damaged organs. 

I know there is a lot of love and positive energy here on DK so please, please keep Sammi and his family in your thoughts and prayers today and in the days to come!  Thank you!!!

Oh, he is sooo beautiful--I am hoping for the very, very best for him. I will say that I had a cat with a similar injury many years ago. It is a miracle that he dragged himself to the door and was able to be saved. He recovered completely and lived a long healthy life. Hoping Sammi does the same.
