She has no thumbs, so surely it can't be that

Ethel sleeps with her paw in her mouth.  Obviously she's not sucking her thumb, but what is she doing?

She lays on her side, then right before she falls asleep, she lifts her front paw, opens her mouth and puts it in there.  She is not licking, or chewing, just keeps it in her mouth.  I have to say it's the cutest damn thing, and I have tried to get a picture, but when I get up to get the camera, she gets up too.

 

I guess I will have to wear it around my neck until I get a good shot.

Bridget does that too!!  She puts her "thumb" in her mouth rather than her whole paw.  I agree that it's really difficult to get a picture!  Now that Bridget is 3, she does it less frequently.  Maybe she doesn't want to be a baby sucking her thumb???

How adorable!!!!  No one sleeps like this at our house but Stuat MUST have his head on one of us.  He likes to lay his head over our ankles, knees or butts, he seems very comfy - us not so much.  LOL
