I remember the first grooming session for Tara and I was a nervous wreck too! It sounds like you have done all you can do to inform the groomer of your wishes so the rest of it is out of your hands. Tara came back once with one set of eyelashes cut and the other still long! Thank goodness they grow back quickly as does her coat so if things don't go as hoped for there will always be a next time. Or you can always learn about home grooming in the Grooming Group!  Fingers and paws crossed that it goes well!

Can't wait to see the photos. Our first trip to a groomer was... interesting. :-) But within a week or so it all looked more natural.

Good luck for sure ! Finnley's first trip was fine except for the stupid ugly bows they like to stick on their ears. Hope Midas doesn't get anything so humiliating.

Looking forward to seeing the photos!  I have to have Shelby's eyelashes trimmed.... they grow like weeds and shoot straight down from her lids... it looks creepy, not cute like some doodle lashes!

Well...... How did it go?  Looking forward to pics.

Waiting for the update! Hope you're not in shock!!

WELL!!.... i went to pick him up..... he looks gorgeous!!!! perfectly cut.. BUT I AM VERY UPSET!! they TRIMMED HIS LASHES PRETTY SHORT!!!!!!!!!! my husband told him that he didnt want them trimmed.. and we were having his face shaved and the owner said ok so i will just go around them then.. and i picked him up it was dark out.. i noticed once i brought him home that they trimmed his lashes!!!!!!!!!! my mom said it wold have looked stupid with his face shaved and long long lashes..i dont know if she was just syaing that to calm me down.. i called the shop but the owner wasnt there last night after i got home.. so i want to call back today and complain..what do u think i should do? i like how he looks other then that...the price was $90 which i thought was good as others priced me at $130.. and i plan on going back also because they have an open grooming salon...should i call and express how i feel? or leave it alone because i may continue to use them?? im very upset tho..will the grow back? his eye lashes were a nice strawberry blonde redish..im worried they wont grow back that color or as nice.. :( i grew those lashes for 9 months!!! :( pics to come if someone can explain how i can post it right in this message and not something u guys have to click to open.. please and thank u! xoxo

I think that you should just tell them nicely next time you take him in that they trimmed the lashes against your wishes the first time, and to not do it again.

All things aside, hair around the eyes can cause some serious eye health issues for the dogs. My vet encourages keeping that area clean, trimmed, and clear
So, they grow back. I bet he feels better.
I had a blind dog. You really want to prevent eye issues. The groomer not only makes them look good, they focus on hygenics also.
So- post pictures already!!!
Just use the third icon. It's simple. Even us old people can do this. TBIIP

lol thank u! when i click on the image icon it allows me to choose a photo and then it takes forever and never loads.. then i tried attaching an image.. and it still doesnt work! :(

Then try to just drag the photo and drop it directly into this discussion.

One way, open up two DKs. Have one on your page and the photo and one to this discussion.

P.S. Have you looked up the damage that hair can do to a dog's eye?  It may help you get over this eyelash envy .

I've had two doodles, and one the hair would not interfere but Spud, the vet warned me that it would become a huge problem.  And...as soon as I allow them to grow, he gets some bad gooey eye symptoms.

That is very interesting Joanne, as my Charlie is the exact opposite.  His eyes get gooey and infected if his lashes are trimmed to short (they curl into his eyes and irritate them).  I guess it must depend on the doodle!
