lol Sue, we all have those moments. Maybe you're right that they will notice if they are being treated poorly, but I can't imagine too many people being mean to this guy.
if ANYONE was mean to my Midas in front of me.. i would be in JAIL...lets put it that way
Here is how they are shown in actuality, I would say it's pretty drastic. In addition, traditional Poodle cuts are pretty crazy but they are perfectly acceptable and the dogs are more than comfortable in them.
I understand that everyone has their pet peeves, but I feel that I had to come on and say something because I don't think she should me made to feel guilty in any way for choosing to shave her dog in a non-traditional way. I highly doubt that there will be an issue with someone being mean to Midas because of his haircut, even if anyone thought it was a weird haircut I can't imagine them coming up and "bullying" a dog.
I just hope that everyone realizes that something you may not agree with (like creative breeding of poodles) isn't abuse or evil just because you personally wouldn't do it. Looking at everything in black and white ( "If I don't like it, it's not right") is really just not a productive mindset. I think we should all be more tolerant and worry about the actual abuse and mistreatment that is happening to dogs, rather than the silly minor differences between caring owners.
OMD....you have just destroyed my entire parenting style in one short sentence...If I don't like it, it's not right. Now what am I supposed to do when they don't listen? LOL
LOL
thank u camilla!! u are absoultely right!!
I apologize, I meant to type "creative grooming"
My point about the haircut is that there is nothing inherently wrong or uncomfortable about them for the dog. Darwin is equally happy as a house pet being shaved down or in his full fluffy glory. And he would be equally comfortable half shaved and half not. Frankly if we were all going completely off of maximum enjoyment for our doodles rather than appearance they'd all be shaved short, because they would be able to get dirty and wet to their hearts content and not have to deal with matting. Does that mean that a shaggy doodle is not right?
And the Lion cut wasn't developed out of a desire to parade the animal around in a crazy haircut. It was developed to make the dog more comfortable

So if it wasn't developed to humiliate the dog, and the dog is perfectly comfortable in the haircut, then what is wrong with it?
again! thank you.. i am proud of My midas...long hair short hair no hair at all..fat skinny.. dirty clean... :)
