Sophie Bear Gets Groomed!

Hi Everyone, I took Sophie Bear to her first full grooming today. As per the advice I got in the grooming group, I filled in the 'doodle doo' checklist and brought pictures of doodle styles I like. She decided to do her own thing, well, she sort of talked me into letting her. I've never brought a dog for a grooming before so was insecure about what to ask for. I should know better by now, I always get the best advice on DK, better advice than at the pet store, better than the vet, so why not better than the groomer? What can I say I'm a pushover!

 

Anyway, despite the fact taht she looks likea bobblehead, I kind of find her cute in a goofy sort of way. Her skinny legs are hilarious. And she's a happy girl so that's all that matters. Now I can take her swimming without worrying about mats, and she'll be so much easier to bath.

 

I'd really like to know everyone's honest impressions. How would you rate the ob the groomer did, and what would you have done differently?

I think she looks fabulous! So shiny and soft!

yep, so very soft.

I think she looks amazing and so even! Her head looks a little big, and full, but not out of proportion at all. Maybe try what Leslie said and wet her some and scrunch or even let it airdry and not brush out.

It's always such a shock when the dogs come back from the groomers with their "summer do".  I love the shaggy doodle look, but then, I also love the velvet softness of their fur when it is groomed short.  (we had a cavalier/poodle cross and now have a maltese and Pippin, our doodle).  Pippin hasn't been groomed yet (only 6 months old), and I'm debating what to do myself!  What I LOVE about Sophies "do" is that you can see her beautiful expressive eyes.

Sophie is beautiful no matter if her hair is long or short.  She is just a delicious chocolate kiss!!

I think she looks great!  I would have kept the legs a little longer, but other than that I think the groomer did a good job....and her coat looks so healthy.

Not sure how well you can see, but Lucy is only scissor cut.  I don't allow a razor at all unless they clear it through me first.  And even then it's just on her belly or privates.
