Turned out to be amazing!!! I was nervous bringing him in after hearing all the shaving horror stories! Thanks to DK, I went in with the doodle instructions & pictures. The groomer is very highly rated in Philly, they even specialize in hand scissoring & stripping, but I was still nervous.

The only gripe I have is how long he was at the groomers. I dropped him off at 11:30 & was called at 2 telling me he was ready. They said they ran a little behind & got started with him around 11:45. Still over 2 hours!

So, moment of truth...I walk in & he's clawing the floor trying to get to me. He looked AMAZING. He was 4.5 inches and they cut him to 1.5 inches. When his coat really starts changing, I may even get him cut to 1 inch It looks like they cut his nose really short, but the rest of him is so great that I don't mind that.

I cannot embed the photos, I'm on my iPad, my computer is broken. If someone would embed them is appreciate it!

He looks adorable.  Really I don't think that is all that long, I drop my girls off at 8, they get a bath, sani cut, hair trimmed from bottom of their feet and nails clipped, I get called about 10:30 or 11 to pick them up, if I were having them cut (haven't done that yet with Polly and Meg doesn't need cuts) I would expect them to be there longer.  Will be interested to see what others say, my girl may be slow and I not aware of it.

Judy, I drop Libby off at eight and I usually get a call between two and three!  It's a long day for her, but it is one of HER favorite places to go.  She loves her groomer and we have never had a problem.  She does not stay in a cage all that time.  Libby is very social and loves to visit all the kitty's and the dogs along with the groomers.

Stew looks great and that is no time at all. Of course I bring n two but they are gone for hours.

Stew looks amazing!
I usually drop ours off for a few hours, so I think 11:30-2 is a pretty normal grooming time frame.

Oh my!  He looks gorgeous!  My dogs are at the groomer for hours and hours - of course she is grooming three dogs.

Stew looks great!! I would say time is good.. my first groomer did Mila in 2-3 hours ( she is 62 lbs) but rushed  her with few breaks and she was not happy to go back.. my current groomer takes 3 hrs, Mila gets 1-2 breaks and groomer uses natural shampoos and mila is relaxed when she comes home

Jess ~ here are your photos of Stewie.  He is so darn cute and the grooming looks great!

Jess, I think he looks beautiful and so darn cute too!  I'm glad his first time and yours was successful and happy!

He's gorgeous!  You've really found a keeper for a groomer--and the time is certainly less than what I've experienced.

Stew is a cutie, Jess! Really great groom. I hate to break it to you, but just over 2 hrs is considered a FAST groom! LOL!
