I too agree with the information Adina gave you, however, to answer your question, I have an English GD and an American GD, both F1. The English shed more, but it is just enough to vacuum every other day or so and get some light fur balls under furniture. I can keep her hair much longer and get very little hair on the brush when I do brush her. I don't have a problem with hair on clothing or furniture. The Amer. GD does not shed much and I have more problems with matting with him. I need to brush him more often for that reason. I never thought anything about the English or american golden retriever sides having anything to do with shedding as it really is a 50-50 chance regardless, or so I think.

Clancy is a rescue but, with his stockier build, most closely resembles and English goldendoodle.  He most certainly is a first generation. He sheds tons.  We have fur all over our house, on our clothing and blankets.  No matter how much I clean we will have fur embedded in everything in our house and RV forever.

First off I can't get this smile off my face of your profile picture, lol. They are adorable!! Our last dog was the same way, he was a Sheltie, so needless to say we were finding his hair's up till the day we moved 6yrs after he had passed away. Sounds gross but, we would even get it sometimes in our refrigerator, lol. And, I'm sure never ate a meal without him being part of it, literally. Oh, I miss him. He was the best dog! Thanks for your imput :)

Echo sheds some, but I think the SO sheds more than the dog.  Echo is a F1 from AB. And he is the best dog I have ever had. Good luck with your puppy.
