I would be very careful, dogs can easily break them with their nails and some are just simply afraid. Also in my opinion that kind of jumping is not good for their joints and hips.

I wouldn't worry so much about the trampoline breaking, but the dog breaking something: ie tail, leg, paw etcetera.

Thanks guys, i know that trampolining has its risks but we have safety net and it seems that alot of people jump with their pets.

Agreed.

I've seen several children with dislocated hips from jumping on a trampoline and it's not something I would ever recommend for a dog. The chances are just too good for a dog to become injured.

It is not something I would ever okay. The net Is not the issue, it is the dog coming down weird and breaking something. A lot of people do things with their dog that I would never do :)

I agree - double bouncing was prohibited with my kids on the trampoline for that reason.  I can see a dog on the trampoline by himself but with another person on it, I can't imagine what would happen to their bones or joints!

It seems to me this is not a natural thing for a dog and there is no way to explain safety precautions to them I would never risk this with my dogs.

A lot of people do a lot of dumb things with their pets, this is one of them.   Your dog is still a pup, a trampoline could literally cost him his mobility or his life.

As I was enjoying a fun walk with my dogs today, this post came to mind when I passed a backyard trampoline. I couldn't help but think of all the discussions we have had here regarding dogs running up and down stairs, jumping off docks, landing hard in water, risks of having them run with us no earlier than 18 months old, and many other precautions we have been educated about and made aware of the possible or likely damage these activities can cause. Especially to young growing dogs. I don't recall trampoline ever being mentioned, but it rates right up there with "probable damage causing activities", IMHO. I would sure need a lot more educated information than what I saw other dog owners put on the internet. Basically, I thought of all the fun things that I do with my dogs that have little to no risk of harm and hope that you will research this further and come up with other things you can do to "play with your buddy".
"Thumbs Up" Sue!
