Wait a second... Are you my dog?

I had a one hour private lesson with my new trainer and I am happy to report that my Charley is like a new dog!! I know it sounds silly; that one hour can completely change your dog, but I learned how to react to certain situations which in turn told Charley if I was happy or not. At one point the trainer had me go outside and come back in and it took two times for Charley to learn that I was not going to pet her unless all four feet were on the ground. So later in the hour I went outside and came back in and Charley ran up to me and sat. It brought tears to my eyes to see my dog show me respect. The trainer told me that Charley has put herself as the Alpha female because no one else claimed the position and that she actually would be much happier if I took over. I still need to work on this everyday and I know I'll have good days and bad but I'm so hopeful that things will finally calm down in my house!!!

The right trainer is like having a key that turns in their brain, isn't it?  So worth the cost and time.  Congratulations to Charley and you.  We have found that saying Eh-eh is the fastest way for Meg to know that is not acceptable.  Happy training.

Can I ask what other issues your pup has ? How old is she ? I ask, because I have been having issues with my 10 month old and the last two weeks she has  been much better.. is it because she is almost a year old ? perhaps ,but I sure feel hopeful !

charley is the same age as my Violet...She did bite me ...not mouthing  actually biteing me on my arms  and break skin and it hurt ! my last of teeth puncture wounds are almost healed... seems better the last 2 weeks .. perhaps they are almost 1 ?

These doodles are so smart and I like the advice about her being happier if you claim the alpha dog status. Bella is my crazy girl, but bothnour doodles respond very well to being disciplined and following orders. I think they are happier when they know who's the pack leader and its not them.
