Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

After being so sidetracked from DK by 'life'  lately, I took sometime yesterday and now this morning to catch-up. (gotta' LOVE those days off from work).  As I was looking at all of the posts and pictures of everyone's doodles, I realized that there was one feature that always gave me an "AWE!" moment.  Now we all love doodles for their intelligence, comical ways, and 'special' looks, but what is it that gives you that AWE MOMENT?   For me.... it's a really black nose.  I love the contrast of a black nose against the hair on a doodles face. Now, although it's very hard to see Tori's little black nose, it's there.  But on those lighter colored doodles - it is something that truly melts my heart!

No black noses here but I love our rose colored noses. But the eyes really have it for me. Who could resist?
There are so many features that do this for me.  I love that sleepy, disheveled look.  It reminds me of a line from the movie, About A Boy (I'm pretty sure that's the right movie), when Hugh Grant says he was at the salon having his hair carefully disheveled.  It's so unkempt, yet so perfect.  I also love it when Halas walks over and just kind of lays down or flops half next to me, half on me.  I guess it's the sleepy, snuggley moments that get me the most.

I love watching Sophie run like the wind in the dog park, ears flapping, galloping as fast as she can and getting all the other dogs to chase her. She puts a huge smile on my face every time. She's such a confident and fun little goof ball.

For Winston, it's when he dips his head low and tucks it in my lap or between my knees, begging for affection. Makes my heart ache because I know he hasn't been getting all the love and affection he needs and deserves. Last night I scolded him  with a loud "NO" for growling and barking at Sophie when she took a toy from him. He instantly tucked his head down and came over to me as if he was saying "I'm Sorry, please don't be mad at me". He looked so sad, my poor pooh bear, I felt so badly for yelling at him. I told him so and gave him cuddles and he looked up at me with a huge grin on his face :) and of course, who can resist those big black noses. So cute!

awwww, Winston sounds like such a sweetheart!!! It would be hard for me to put my foot down too after all he's been through, but unfortunately it is necessary or he'll think he'll get away with anything!!! I love watching Lola run, too...doodles seem to love to be chased!! Lola will egg on other dogs to chase her and then she'll take off, leaving them in her dust!!
The eyes have it.  They are so expresive and I always wonder what they are thinking.  Lucy has a way of making her eyebrows move with her eyes and it's just so darn cute.  Ethel eyes are as dark as coal and with that white hair they are mezmerizing.

How do you say no to this?

um, you don't. sweetums.

Ha ha..."you don't"

nope. can't.
Ummmm... YOU CAN'T!!!!  CUTIE!

For me, it's that scruff on top of the head/eyebrow area that falls over their eyes. Something about it looks so cute.. and gives them such an expressive look. Darwin's eyebrow scruff makes him like he's dubious or bored... which is cute and funny to me.

Awe... Darwin always looks like he's thinking of something...lives up to his name!  LOVE HIM!
