Mattie is very good at therapy dog work--I have to say that I just stand back and watch the joy on the face of the elderly or college students she visits--and she adjusts to her audience--lots of enthusiasm for the younger ones and gentle quietness for the elderly. She is also good at understanding my words and knows the schedule of the house to the minute.

Rio is the lovebug--he is good at hugs and cuddling. Lyric is good at making puppies and being a good mom! She is also a very good guard dog, although I wish she was not good at that--she loves to bark at passersby and Rio has learned it from her too--so now we have a chorus! She is also very good at making doggie snow angels!

Murphy is excellent at catching balls and bringing it right back to me. As in within inches of my hand ( if on couch) or foot (if outside throwing) . Every time! What's amazing is he can actually judge how far it will roll when he drops it so it rolls and stops right in front of me. I can stand in the same exact spot, throw, and he will bring it right back to the same spot and I never move. It just amazes me everytime.
As for Bella.....she can hop! Really really high. Like a rabbit. As in jump over the ottoman onto the couch and never touch the ottoman, or over Murphy, over a grandchild on the floor. When she gets really excited about going for a walk, she will hop on her two back legs and jump at least a foot or two up off the floor. It's crazy!

Murphy could give Gavin a lesson.  He plays fetch - he fetches it, then he makes you fetch it my dropping it far away!

wow--maybe you guys could take your act on the road!!

But Duncan is great at so many things! I could never pick just one. Here is the short list:

Duncan is GREAT at barking at the wind, tricking me into holding his antler so he can chew it, barking at his empty water dish, knocking every toy he has under the couch/bed/loveseat, barking at his Kong, burping in my face when he is done eating, barking at people wearing helmets, and sleeping.

But I suppose if I had to pick just one thing he was great at (from his list of other obvious talents), I'd say he is awesome at always making me feel better when I've had a bad day :)

Good Boy Duncan

wonderful answer about a wonderful dog!!!

Hmm, where to begin? LOL

JD has perfect house manners, and he has since I brought him home from the shelter at 14 months old. He has had the run of the house from the beginning, no gates or crates necessary. Never had an acident. Never jumped up on anyone or anything, greets every one with all four on the floor. Never chewed or destroyed anything. Never took anything that wasn't his. Never went into the garbage. Never counter-surfed. Never ate anything inappropriate. Never wakes me up at night, even when he was on high doses of prednisone.

He is wonderful with small children, always gentle.

He is world-class at the game of fetch. Catches a ball on the fly, brings it back and places it in your hand, your lap, or any other location of your choosing, every time. And the game is over when you say it is.

And he has a world-class doodle nose!

Yep, I agree. JD takes the awesome doodle prize. And it WAS very stiff competition. :-)

I'll say, Darwin's mom! LOL

LOL, Sandy, but he used to be a picky eater!

Ha, at least Murphy has one thing in common with JD, he catches on the fly and returns it to you. The other stuff....only in my dreams. JD is amazing!
