Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Well, Sophie and I are supposed to be at the hospital today between 12:30 and 1:00 for our weekly Therapy Visit. We have missed the last two weeks because of a Cold, and an out of town trip, so did not want to miss today. Here's the problem, it is raining. To say that it is pouring would be an understatement.
So, I'm trying to figure out how to get Sophie in the door of the hospital without her being soaked. I can carry her if it has stopped raining so as not to get her feet and belly wet, but I can't carry an umbrella and Sophie if it is still pouring. According to Delta rules I'm not to hand her off to anyone else in the facility, so that I could pull up and drop her off and go park. She has to remain under my control at all times. Plus she then wouldn't get to potty right before going in. So, I thought well she does have her rain coat, she hates it, but let's see if I can get her to wear it. I put it on her about an hour ago and if looks could kill ... well let's just say I then wouldn't have a problem. She has not moved from her spot since I put it on her. She won't come for a treat, she won't come for the door bell, nothing. She will not move. Think I'm just going to have to grab the blow dryer and head out a little earlier than normal. Rain Rain, Go Away!

Hope the rain stops for you but I bet the folks at the hospital would get a kick out of seeing her in her pretty raincoat.
She may not be happy about the raincoat, but she sure looks awfully cute in it! Hope the rain stops.
I am positive that Sophie is related to Jackdoodle! He would be the same way about the raincoat, except he would probably have his head down on the floor as well.
I can't think of a good way for you two to do your therapy visit, except for maybe not putting her coat on until you get to the hospital. If the car is in the garage, you could just take the coat with, and then when you get to the hospital, put it on her before she gets out of the car? I think she'd probably rather get out of the car with the coat on than stay in the car alone without it, lol.
Oh the joys of juggling a Doodle in the rain. She does look pretty cute in that rain gear ': )
Oh My Doodle that is really a downpour. Sophie could not be any cuter.
Daisy loves her raincoat - NOT! But she will tolerate it if it means she's going outside.
If I were in the hospital, I would LOVE a visit from Sophie!! I bet she brings out lots of smiles! Hope the rain breaks...
I've been thinking about a rain slicker for Shelby - but I bet she would hate it too! Hope the rain let up.... how did you do it?
This is such a cute picture. Murphy would do the same I'm sure, only he'd go hide his head in a corner or behind DH.
Bella on the other hand would be tearing that to shreds until she got it off!!! She's be happy and playful about it, but she'd see no reason to submit to having it on I'm sure. They are all so different
How did it go?
Oh the indignity of it all!
Well, we are back all safe and sound and actually dry. You all must of said some prayers to the rain gods or something! I couldn't believe it, but by the time we arrived at the hospital it had stopped for a few mins so we jumped out of the van, I picked her up and we went as quickly as we could in the door. I put her down right at the door in the grass and she peed and we were inside. Didn't even have to pull out the hairdryer. I thought for sure we were going to get soaked. There was no moving her in the raincoat though. She wouldn't even stand up so I could undo it to take it off. She is definitely a member of the Naked Doodle Club! Wasn't raining again when we came out to go to the car so we were dry all the way around. Guess it was our lucky day!
I think there must have been a "higher power" who knew about the wonderful work that you and Sophie do with these Vets....and decided that your should NOT be wet "angels".
