I've noticed that Noah likes to slink away in a corner, and lately closets, when he wants to nap. My other dog loves to nap curled up next to me. I remember my golden retriever I had growing up used to like to nap away from people and oddly, loved sleeping in my parent's bathroom shower! Does Noah nap away from me and my other dog because he's more independent and likes his space? Or is he just hot and wants to be in a cool spot? I just looked for him a moment ago and he was all the way in the corner by the front door sleeping on a wee wee pad (which was luckily unused!)
Our doodles nap everywhere. Sometimes they want to snuggle with us, sometimes just on the floor in the same room as us...and sometimes in a totally different room or even floor of the house than us.
There are different grades of leather...some don't scratch as much as others. The really expensive, buttery soft sueded ones are probably out for you with dogs...just talk to the salesperson. We have had anywhere from 2 to 4 dogs living here over the years and have NEVER had a scratch from them. During that time we have had pieces of furniture with 5 different leathers. And, the dogs are on the furniture all the time...even launching on and off of it during some wild chase games they play!
Always at my feet, usually under my desk but no matter what it has to be no more than a couple feet away from me. After a year of togetherness if he isn't near me I feel kind of naked.
Koda usually naps so some part of his body is touching some part of my body. If not that then on the couch or if I happen to be folding laundry or laying out clothes that I am going to wear that day - on them. I can't put clothes on the bed - they become an instant bed for him. Haha!
I am pretty sure doodles don't understand the meaning of personal space - at least when it comes to their people! :) Anyone else agree?
During the summer Oski likes to nap on the wood floors or tile or in the basement if it's a really hot day--he doesn't tolerate heat too well. Now that it's winter he pretty much naps at our feet altho sometimes I catch him trying to sneak onto the bed with a big smile on his face!
Aww.............how cute! Ours mostly like to nap wherever we are, but the cold tile floor is top on the list followed by the couch on a blanket. Guess it depends if they are warm or cold:)
As a pup Rosco preferred the hard wood floors...no bed, no blanket. Would NOT nap with me on the couch in those rare moments I broke down and invited him up. There was one spot in front of the front window and next to the side of our couch he LOVED!
NOW...anywhere on the floor or a dog bed will do. Sometimes I can't find him and then look in our bedroom and find he went for some alone time on his doggy bed.
Yesterday, while Clark was gone I took this photo (can you tell where he is? where he's NOT typically allowed?) and sent it via my phone to Clark:
Holly naps just about anyplace. Sometimes on our couch, other times on our bed and sometimes on her own bed. However, she gets hot after a while and decides that the cool tile floors are the best place to nap. When she naps on our couch, she loves to place her head on the arm rests.
