Don't worry, I am not going to mention any names. Lol. I felt this was a nice side note to the discussion about why we don't mention breeders names. But stories like this are nice to hear IMHO.

We are getting ready to revise our Wills this month. And I felt it important to discuss plans for Murphy and Bella with our children, in the event something should happen to both of us at the same time. We are Harley riders so who knows?
Anyway, they both have 2 dogs of their own and we let them know that we wouldn't expect them to take two more on or even one in each home if they didn't feel up to it and to not feel obligated. So we talked about what they should do. We named a friend or two who would take one or both, we discussed asking here on DK, as you all know my guys so well, and we contacted our breeder to ask her if need be, would she want them to be sent back to her to decide on a home for them.

Our breeder, as many of you know, is the cats meow in my opinion, but I was truely amazed at her answer. She stated that she would certainly fly down from Michigan to Az. To get them herself if need be.
What a sense of relief it is to know that our children would have such a great option available to them especially at a time when they would be overwhelmed with everything else we'd be leaving for them to deal with.
It feels good and I wanted to share. So, do you think you could count on YOUR breeder to do this?

i think my breeder would! i dont think she would keep cooper, but id trust she would find her a good home. though if something happened to dh and i cooper (and the cats) would go to my inlaws (and vice versa we would take their dog) if they were still around.

no plans on kicking the bucket yet, but you never know right

You did remind me to send the annual email to the person who is entrusted with my affairs and the beneficiary on my life insurance and retirement accounts. I just send her an email every year with a summary of my bank names and account numbers, life insurance policy numbers and who to contact to arrange payment. This year's email also included Charlie instructions, including two friends who I know would at least be willing to take care of Charlie temporarily. I also left his veterinary clinic and day care contact info as well as his PetPlan policy number (thanks for the reminder to say do not let this lapse!). I know my "executor" would love to take Charlie, but it may take awhile for her to get here, and she would have to make arrangements for him in the meantime. I did leave his breeder's contact info as well, I would also trust her to find an appropriate home if necessary.
