This is Beamer - Stuart's brother - looks just like Stuart!
Rooney's littermates were sold to families all over the U.S. - 2 went to the east coast. We have no contact nor did I meet any of the parents. There was though a "singleton" puppy (a single puppy litter) that was born 1.5 wks after Rooney's litter and that puppy spent tons of time in with Rooney's litter - Dublin - a very big red puppy. When I took Rooney to Doodle Day at the breeder's after we have had him for 4 months - there was Dublin with his family and they all remembered Rooney and were so happy to see him. Dispite the fact that there were 20 some doodles there - Rooney and Dublin hung together the entire time - they still knew each other!
Stuart - thanks to Carol & Banjo does know that one of his sibs (Joplin) Beamer lives in Atlanta and we have been in contact which makes it nice to compare for medical reasons and we have no info on the parents. Beamer and Stuart look like twins!
So far, there are 3 of Rua's siblings (from the same litter) here on DK and one sibling from same parents different litter.
Rua's littermates are:
Julie & Peyton
Christi & Max
Kristie & Auto
Rua's sibling from a different litter:
Gretta & Shimmer (just brought her home May 25th)
Our breeder has a link to DK on his front page to our group. I discovered DK before I got Rua, while looking through a post off of his page that had a link in it.
There were 8 puppies in Rua's litter. I copied the pictures he posted for each puppy (Rua's name was Female Red) into a Word document and have been filling in names as I find them). I know the name of one of the others, but haven't tracked her down yet...she isn't on DK.
Duncan's momma Maggie miscarried two pups during the pregnancy and then when she delivered another one didn't make it. So it was only Duncan and one other male pup who survived. I had emailed my breeder with a christmas card 2 years ago and she asked if she could forward it along with the photos i sent to the guardian family of duncan's momma Maggie. So I did have an exchange with the guardian family. They told me about Duncan's first 12 weeks. How he loved to drag the husbands slippers around from room to room. She only knew that the other pup went to a family in North Carolina.
And for 2 years i've been waiting for her to send me photos of Duncan and his brother that she had. I might have to email her today as this post is making me curious again! Duncan's name was Sirius until I got him. And his Brother's name was Remi at the time....I am always searching for others that came from duncan's breeder. My brother and his wife have Duncan's half-sister. They share the same dad but have different moms. She was the reason i fell in love with the breed. Sigh!
Of course. I have kept in touch with two of the sisters (Christine+Ellie is a DKer). Photos below.
The other three siblings - one is a sire in Georgia. The other two are still around my area, but I have not seen them in a while. I keep in touch with Peri's breeder because she plans all of our romps and does a lot of rescue locally.
Ellie (in NYC - Christine+Ellie on DK - took from her page):
Bella who lives in Mid Tn and goes to daycare periodically with Peri (this is on their 1st bdays). Can you guess which one is Peri?
I think this is a great photo to show how the breeder cannot be 100% sure how coats will turn out. She thought Bella would not shed (and she doesn't) - Bella was curlier than Peri at 8-9 weeks and she went to a family with allergies. Peri was thought to shed...she doesn't and look at their coats now.
