Aussiedoodle

Welcome to The Aussiedoodle Group  -  Where we love to share photos, experiences, concerns, laughs, and so much more about our ADs. A group where we understand the proud ownership you feel about these amazing furry creatures. We also understand that though the AD is a doodle cross, it has a unique set of features from its Golden and Labrador cousins.

About The Breed

Aussiedoodles are Australian Shepherd and Poodle cross, NOT Australian Labradoodles

Aussiedoodles are very consistent in their shaggy Looks, and typically very low to no shedding. They are very smart. They are Like Little children with Hair, You just can't go wrong

They are popular as Service and/or Therapy dogs due to their trainability, Caring and eager to please personality. Specifically, many are used as Diabetic Alert Dogs.

Their sizes are much easier to predict as both Australian Shepherds and Poodles come in 3 sizes, Miniature, Moyen, and Standard.

Thanks for welcoming me. This is Scout. He is 1/2 party poodle and 1/2 mini aussie. A friend breed them and was selling them at a horse show. I wish I could get another one like him, but they ended up fixing their poodle. He is too cute. Looks a lot like a Aussie. He sheds only a tiny bit, which of coarse is great.

Thanks Nancy, I appreciate your advice. I do see your point and I am very happy with my F1 coats. Nikki at Blazingstar does breed her F1s back to poodles and says she still gets great coats with no wools. But I really like the Aussie part of the mix and would not want to breed that out.. I guess that was why I was thinking F1 to F1. I have kept one of my merle puppies to breed but will now think about it and try to do some more researching. I have plenty of time she is only 5 months old and is quite a character. Thanks so much for your help and if you have any ideas about my merle girl let me know.

Thanks Nancy, What do you think about breeding an F1 to an F1? Do you have a stud that would work or know of any nice ones? Or maybe you think that is not a good idea.

Hi Nancy, Waco is beautiful. How old is he and is he an F1 or an F1B? What are his parents and their colors? Lyra is one of my future moms and I am trying to decide what to breed her too> Have you bred f1s to f1s and if so what do you get? I really like this first generation so far and do not want to breed too much of the Aussie out unless I have to for shedding reasons. How many merles per litter do you normally get? My first litter I got two merles and four chocolates with white points on some. This first litter have such beutiful fleece coats that I do not know that I want to add more poodle but finding a nice f1 stud may be difficult. Do you have any? Are your pups mini or standard? Mine are standards. Nikki at Blazing Stars line uses the full brother to my little girls. so I can not go there. she has been so very nice to share information with me about her Aussiedoodles. I definitely need someone who health tests and is very reputable. Also at 5 months my puppies have no shedding at all. Do you think that will continue? Thanks so much for any info you can give me. I want to do the best job I can and I appreciate your hel[p.

I have raised one litter of aussiedoodles and have a possible second on the way. The puppies are a wonderful mix of the two breeds are are such fun. I started them in obedience very early and are so intelligent. Such a joy to train!!!!
