Aussiedoodle

Welcome to The Aussiedoodle Group  -  Where we love to share photos, experiences, concerns, laughs, and so much more about our ADs. A group where we understand the proud ownership you feel about these amazing furry creatures. We also understand that though the AD is a doodle cross, it has a unique set of features from its Golden and Labrador cousins.

About The Breed

Aussiedoodles are Australian Shepherd and Poodle cross, NOT Australian Labradoodles

Aussiedoodles are very consistent in their shaggy Looks, and typically very low to no shedding. They are very smart. They are Like Little children with Hair, You just can't go wrong

They are popular as Service and/or Therapy dogs due to their trainability, Caring and eager to please personality. Specifically, many are used as Diabetic Alert Dogs.

Their sizes are much easier to predict as both Australian Shepherds and Poodles come in 3 sizes, Miniature, Moyen, and Standard.

Just wondering if anyone is still in this group. I have not noticed any recent posts. I'm about to get an Aussidoodle and it would be nice to talk with other aussiedoodle owners.

Just wanted to say hi.  I'm a new Aussiedoodle owner.  We have a 10 week old named Charley.  He is absolutely precious.  This is our first time as a family owning a dog.  The kids are really helping out a lot of loving it!  The pic below is the day we brought Charley home.

Wesley's summer cut!  We did not realize how interesting and beautiful his markings were.  He sure will be happier on our hikes now :)

Shelly and all, the agility is really something to behold, isn't it?! Even if Tory doesn't like to show it off ;o)!

Tori loves to jump and can run through the tightest spaces with such grace and agility, we even took her to an agility course, but she had stage fright and would not perform at all... guess she's a closet performer!  LOL

Thanks Melissa! Sounds like it's pretty typical of a happy aussiedoodle! Since I've found that it surprises people who see dogs all the time (vet and daycare), it makes me wonder if poodles or aussies are that bouncy or only in combination.

@Diane, Wesley is a jumper too!  And it is an excited jump.  he is also very fast and loves to run in between things, like he was at an agility course.  Too funny!

I love the pic of Ringo!

Antje, Ringo does it when he sees a rabbit, cat, or other animal in the yard. Like with Bruno, it's a happy behavior! Today he jumped onto the vet's exam table like it was no trouble whatsoever.

Interesting John that yours leaps so easily over things. I've wondered how tall a fence it would take to trust it would keep Ringo in.

Bruno does the same thing, especially when he sees someone arriving or hears a car coming up the driveway!  He's a very bouncy boy!  Love your photo!

@Diane I don't know about the behavior but mine is a leaper.  He leaped over doorway gate at about 12 weeks and our extra tall one not long after.
