Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Welcome to The Aussiedoodle Group - Where we love to share photos, experiences, concerns, laughs, and so much more about our ADs. A group where we understand the proud ownership you feel about these amazing furry creatures. We also understand that though the AD is a doodle cross, it has a unique set of features from its Golden and Labrador cousins.
About The Breed
Aussiedoodles are Australian Shepherd and Poodle cross, NOT Australian Labradoodles
Aussiedoodles are very consistent in their shaggy Looks, and typically very low to no shedding. They are very smart. They are Like Little children with Hair, You just can't go wrong
They are popular as Service and/or Therapy dogs due to their trainability, Caring and eager to please personality. Specifically, many are used as Diabetic Alert Dogs.
Their sizes are much easier to predict as both Australian Shepherds and Poodles come in 3 sizes, Miniature, Moyen, and Standard.

Just wondering if anyone is still in this group. I have not noticed any recent posts. I'm about to get an Aussidoodle and it would be nice to talk with other aussiedoodle owners.

Max is a cutie.. he does seem like he is tiny. Tori was 14 pounds at about 12 weeks, and now she is topped out at 38 pounds.
Hi Jon! Max is so cute!
I am so not an expert, but just providing my experience. When we first got Wes, he was 9 weeks too and weighed 4.7 lbs. He is 4 1/2 months old now and a little over 12lbs. His breeder stated he should range between 15-20 lbs.
It all depends on how big mom and dad are, but then that does not always give the correct weight either. I had a mini Goldendoodle who was suppose to mature to about 35lbs (according to the breeder). When he was 11 months, he was 48lbs! So, it can be pretty hard to determine. Most good breeders can get pretty close to a weight range. Do you know how much the parents weighed? I am sure Nancy will provide you with good info :)
Just got ours this weekend, his name is Max and is 9 weeks, he is great so far! Group has been helpful prior to getting him and getting information about him, looking forward to more as he gets older. Trying to get a feel for how big I can expect him to get... he's 9 weeks and 3.2 pounds right now, anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks all!
Hi everyone! I am new to this site so I just wanted to say hi! I have two dogs who are the best of friends, a Weimaraner named Jade and my beautiful Aussiedoodle baby Sophie! She is 6 1/2 months old and she is an absolute doll. I love them to pieces :) I can't wait to get to know you and your wonderful dogs!
I have a 6mos old Mini Aussie Doodle (Profile pic is not him but his very Large Golden Doodle brother) We wanted a smaller doodle for our 95 lb Golden Doodle.
What a great choice we made he is so smart and sweet and both dogs love each other and play so well together.
She looks more cleaned up in this one... her head is still longer and shaggy here though... lol
