Aussiedoodle

Welcome to The Aussiedoodle Group  -  Where we love to share photos, experiences, concerns, laughs, and so much more about our ADs. A group where we understand the proud ownership you feel about these amazing furry creatures. We also understand that though the AD is a doodle cross, it has a unique set of features from its Golden and Labrador cousins.

About The Breed

Aussiedoodles are Australian Shepherd and Poodle cross, NOT Australian Labradoodles

Aussiedoodles are very consistent in their shaggy Looks, and typically very low to no shedding. They are very smart. They are Like Little children with Hair, You just can't go wrong

They are popular as Service and/or Therapy dogs due to their trainability, Caring and eager to please personality. Specifically, many are used as Diabetic Alert Dogs.

Their sizes are much easier to predict as both Australian Shepherds and Poodles come in 3 sizes, Miniature, Moyen, and Standard.

Just wondering if anyone is still in this group. I have not noticed any recent posts. I'm about to get an Aussidoodle and it would be nice to talk with other aussiedoodle owners.

Tori has her tail.  There was another aussiedoodle on here who doesn't - can't remember now who it was....

My Aussidoodle has his tail and he is a standard aussiedoodle it curls up over his back and I have no clue where that comes from since both the poodle and the Australian crop their tails.. I'm not sure which. But sure enough it curls up and hangs in a poof over his back..in this picture it's been shaved at the base of his tail..naturally it is just as full at the base as it is at the end.. he's a beautiful standard Aussiedoodle :)

Teddy as a puppy! See how light he has gotten?!

I am curious how many aussiedoodles out there have tails?  Our Shep does not and I think he has tail envy.  :)

Yesterday we brought F Scott Fitzdoodle home. He is a rescue AussieDoodle and absolutely precious. We also have a 3-yr-old Labradoodle. Am trying to learn as much as possible about how to maintain Fitz's curly coat especially since Webster's (Labradoodle) is wavy and doesn't need to be trimmed. Fitz has one other issue I'm researching - carsickness. I have never had a dog with carsickness before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. He also has these unbelievable marble-looking eyes (blue/brown flecks). Does anyone else have a dog with eyes like that?

Hi all! I don't have an Aussiedoodle but my husband and I think our next Doodle should be and Aussie. We want a little girl, a sister for Bernie, and we love the coloring in Aussiedoodles and the fact that their 'standard' size will be smaller than Bern's standard Labradoodle size. I hope you don't mind me snooping around here and getting to know the breed better!

I did know that, Nancy - I saw your facebook posting... went to look at "Shelby" on your page, but she's not on it??? Is she a poodle or aussie? I'll be watching for more pictures!!! (Shelly - aka - Rochelle)
