I've trained Muppet to walk/run on our treadmill. I used treats in the beginning, but gradually faded them out for obvious reasons. It's an effective form of exercise, but he doesn't enjoy it like…Continue

I bought this book - dog tricks from Amazon. It looks intersting with many things to do to keeps doods busy during the winter.

This is a good game. We've played this with our 2, we call it "Go Find It". It gets tricky with 2 doods. We're working on making them both sit/stay and then only releasing 1 dood. Murphy (our 2yr old) is pretty good, but Jaxon (our 1yr old MALE) needs to work on patience. Good suggestion!

I've got one! My brother does this with his Lab, and I just started it with Guinness. It only works if your dog will do a reliable down/stay. So, I put him in a down stay and get some treats (that have a pretty strong smell). I let him smell them first, and then I hide them. He actually sees where I hide the first couple, but the others I hide behind him. Then I release him and he gets to "find the treats". I like it because it reinforces the down/stay command and it allows him to "use his nose"...a real doggie thing to do. I've only done it a couple of times so far, but it's fun. If you try it, let me know how it works.

Okay, we have our new group. Let the posts on fun winter activities begin! We'll need a good group picture. Any ideas?
