I have sort of considered the AKC thing. But it feels deceitful to me.
One knowledgeble person said I should register Murphy as an Irish Wolfhound, that he could pass.

Hi Jane,
I haven't done a trial yet, but it is my understanding that a mixed breed dog cannot enter AKC events. I have done some reading on the website www.agilitytrial.com. They explain USDAA and NADAC allow mixed breed entries. I have seen some discussion about the AKC allowing mixed breeds, but I don't think they do. I hope this helps a little.

Hi Linda,
The run-thrus are at canine capers training center, it isn't anything "official". I am going to use this as a measure to see if I am ready. Parris will STILL run off from me to go VISITING!! I have read so much that your off leash needs to be ok. Sometimes she still acts like a silly puppy.

Kim, I was just looking at some NADAC and USDAA events in GA and thought some may be close to you.
Which one are you attending? (I think I was looking at the NADAC Fun Raiser)
Good luck! Parris will have a wonderful time.

Hi Everyone,
I am getting my nerve up to attend my first run-thrus at agility tomorrow morning. I went one other time to watch and now I think I am going to try it. It is like a trial, but just for practice. I think Parris ready, but the jury is out on me!!!!

Hi Jane,
I know your off-leash training will help soooo much. I STILL have to keep my eye on Parris (she is almost 2 ) that she won't get the zoom zooms and run off at a mad dash. Keep us posted about your first class.

Nancie,
Get ready for some fun at agility with Gracie. I remember my first class and how much fun it was. I really have enjoyed how much my bond with Parris has grown. Doodles are easy to train because they are so smart. Let us know how your first class goes.

Hi Nancy,
Congrats on your first class! I have found agility to be SO much fun. I think it is amazing how the dogs do watch each other. Parris always watches the other dogs too. You are going to LOVE it!

Cool, so you are like me!! I have now figured it all out... the trainign is really no problem for the dog... it is ME learning which hand to hold the leash and clicker for which set of equipment, what hand signal, what word, and when to give the food reward. So even though Meadow is the one sacked out on the floor tonight - it really should be me!!

Hi Everyone,

Next Tuesday (St. Patrick's Day) will be Gracie and my first ever Agility class! I have no idea what to expect and after reading all your comments, much of it is Greek to me. I just know that Gracie is so smart and needs "things to do" and I thought this would be a good way to challenge her. I'm curious in knowing if there is any one thing that I should be prepared for or know before attending the first class? Gracie is a very large Goldendoodle, 22 months old and 73 lbs. She is a beautiful runner and jumper and is light on her feet. Does anyone think her size is going to be a problem?

PS...Gracie Doodle met Kate and Yarra about a year ago at one of the Huntington Beach Romps. We arrived from San Diego with another couple and got there as it was winding down.
