I am so proud of my Hartley.  He is doing awesome at the agility classes we recently began - great focus, eye contact etc etc.  A year ago, I would never have believed he had it in him!!

I just want to give my Little Parris a big shout out for her amazing agility weekend.  She had 11 out of 11 qualifying runs.    She got a 2nd place in Steeplechase and third place in Grand Prix.   I am still in shock.  I don't think this will ever happen again....I can't quit smiling.

I want to encourage all the " young dogs" to begin training "on the flat"  There are lots of handling skills that REALLY help that don't involve jumping.  I didn't start Parris until she was 11 months.  I will start my next doodle with Day 1.  Just no jumping or full size contact equipment.  You can train tunnel, table, a board for a teeter.  One of the most important skills in the agility ring is your start line stay!!!   I really like Linda Mecklenburg and her training philosophy.  check out her website.  www.awesomepaws.com

LiliBear did really good on that video! Our school suggest to wait until the dog is a year old as well. I think it has things to do with their growth and bones...

Caught on Film :)

LiliBear and I were recently caught on video and I have created a Smilebox of two of these better clips and posted in on the blog page.  Feedback to improve my agility skills are welcomed :)  ~Leslie

Rua is only 8-1/2 months old and our training facility won't allow dogs to participate in regular agility until they are 1 and have passed CGC test.  But based on Rua's jumping ability (can counter surf - hard to believe since she is pint size - and jump up on a 3' bed), I signed her up for a Puppy Agility Sampler.  We start on 5/5.  I only hope I can keep up!  LOL
