She is ADORABLE! I love her round face!
Sooo cute! My Cooper is a red Australian Labradoodle , he is 20 months now and is starting to get lighter especially on top of his head and when I line brush him I can clearly see the light coat at the roots...at first I felt just like you , wanted him to stay dark red but the blond highlights are kinda growing on me! Makes a nice blend!
(Picture attached was taken last week)
He was pretty close to her colour as a baby...
Sierra is super cute. I think you need to let go of expectations regarding coat color. I know I need to, but we can't help it can we.
From what I can see your pup in the last picture has the blond highlights on the outside. My dog currently has the outer coat dark and when I look at the roots they are lighter which indicates she will be lighter moving forward. That is your best indication of where her coat color is going.
From my limited experience based on my own dog, I would say that is a good sign. The roots tell you where the coat is heading.
She's beautiful! I had a hard time separating her from her teddy bear! Your pictures are wonderful! Tara's coat was darker as a pup but faded as it grew out. Her adult coat is all one color but lighter. She wasn't ever as dark red as Sierra though. What colors are her parents? Is one of them still dark red?
So sweet! That photo reminds me of Tara's puppy coat where the roots are dark and the ends fade. But it's really hard to know what genetics will kick in over time and the adult coat can be totally different in color and texture. So it's pretty much wait and see. And besides, by the time the coat changes you're so totally in LOVE with them that you don't care what color they are! LOL
