I agree with you Frannie that it is great that they are helping take doods and poods out of shelters, but they're still not putting them in homes. Nina, I'm sad that I never met Jake at ADT while we were there. I just think he is such a cute guy from pictures and if he is totally trained from ADT, then he is a wonderfully behaved dood. I wish DRC had gotten him. He would be happy in his new home now. I feel like at this point when he is adopted it will take him even longer to adjust since it has been so long.

Pam - years ago my late mother raised Pekineses and I vaguely remember one of them having inverted eye lashes. She took it to the UGA vet school for surgery. Entropion (inverted eye lashes) can only be corrected by surgery.

Nina - don't even get me started on that whole Orville/Wilbur thing! Makes me bat-poop crazy. I get teary when I think about how they left Wilbs in that shelter because he seemed "shy". Wilbur was literally 3 intakes away from being put down. Frankly, I'm happy that they were dumb enough to leave Wilbur behind because he enriched our lives while he lived with me and ultimately was placed in his perfect home. If IDOG or DRC had gotten Orville, he would have a forever home by now...i just know it!

Judi - I understand your vent. I happen to know Jake as he was left at Atlanta Dog Trainer by his owner when we were training there. I had tried to get him into DRC but ADT had already placed him with GA poodle rescue. Jake is a really sweet dog and is obedience trained by ADT.

Frannie - the same thing bugs me about Circle of Friends. They left Wilbs behind in the shelter because they thought he was unadoptable. But they took Orville who is still listed on Petfinder and Wilbs is happily in his forever home.
Go figure.

Judi - it bothers me too. I looked at them when I was looking for a dog and they wouldn't consider me because I don't have a fenced yard. They should look at the all-around care, and use their rules as guidelines to weed out the undesirables.That said, they're still rescuing doods and poods and they have my respect for that!

Can I take a moment to vent. I'm not trying to make anyone mad, but just want to understand. Why is it that GA poodle rescue makes it almost IMPOSSIBLE to adopt any of their doods? I'm so frustrated because Jake has been up for adoption for well over a year, and I'm sure there are families that would love him, but can't because they have so many stipulations! I guess it's bothering me because our friends, Yvonne and Astro are looking for a rehome doodle and I don't know that Jake would work for them, but I can't even recommend him because they live in another state (TN) and Ally (their daughter) is 7. Just makes me think of all the other wonderful families that could provide a great home to him and yet he's still here. Sorry to vent to all of you, but I thought it would be easier to put this here rather than copying and pasting to Nina and Frannie. :-)

I think I found them (http://www.doodlekisses.com/profile/cobey). I remember Amanda said they lived in Smyrna and that he DH emailed her about yesterday's play date.

I have seen Oscar and his dad at the park before. I really need to remember to bring the DK biz cards with me when I go there.
