I am looking at purchasing a Les Poochs brush and there are different styles and colors and widths and was wondering what everyone else has for their Doodles.  This is alot of money for a brush for a dog but I have heard really good things about them so I'm going to try it, I just am not sure which one?  Please help!!!!

Red dematting one...I have a small one and a large one. It has very strong tines so be careful when brushing, I have actually stabbed myself with the thing...but it does help busting up mats....:)

I just ordered one today. Kemp at the Country Doodle store had me describe our doodle's coat and send a picture, and then he told me exactly which one to get. He was super helpful! I would email him. He is on doodle kisses but his site is www.doodlecountry.com i think!
I got a small green one on ebay for about 1/2 price. I absolutely love it! I use it with 'mane and tail' detangling spray and haven't had any matts that can resist that combo!
I second Chelsea's advice--I e-mailed Kemp & described Tyson's coat, sent him a few pictures, and he recommended the best brush. I think that s the easiest route to go, because you’ll be getting the advice from the best source!
I emailed Kemp too and he was super helpful! Then Callie at the blinds in my den and I used my brush budget for new blinds. I'll be revisiting when it's tax refund (hopefully!) time.
Same with me. I wrote to Kemp and described Guinness's size and coat, and he advised me on which brush to get. It works great. Even though Guinness is in the middle of the coat change I really only need my thinning shears, my brush (I have the green one), and time (lots of time) to keep him groomed and mat free.
Yep, talk to Kemp at Doodlecountry.com and describe your dogs coat, he'll suggest the correct brush. Used mine just today and did hit my hand. That hurts, so be careful on sensitive areas of your doodle when using.
I prefer the green or even the yellow small ones. My doodle coats are mostly quite fine and those finer brushes pull the dead coat out very well. I also have a purple one and the red matzapper. I rarely use the purple one. I have 2 dogs that it works well for and the rest have finer softer coats. I don't often have to use the red one, but it is really good for those occasions when there is some serious matting going on.
I never invested in the larger brushes even though I have standard size dudes. I find a dog is mostly curved anyway, so wider does not necessarily cover a bigger area. Harder on the arm too, which for me, with 14 dudes is a big consideration.
I have the small green one and it works for both my dogs who have very different coats.
I just received the large green one from Kemp today and Ringo and I LOVE it. Kemp was very helpful and I ordered "The Stuff" spray as well. Haven't really tried that yet but the brush is definitely worth it!!
I e-mailed Kemp at Doodle Country Store also and he helped me choose, I use the small green one for Ned - he is a small dood with a soft dreadlocky, curly coat. You also need a steel comb.
