I need help on how to scissor cut a doodle's legs and have it look consistent down the leg. Any help? If anyone can offer advice or point me other discussions I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I wrote about this quite a while ago. Try and search the discussions. Basically, if you want a straight leg, for the front leg point your scissors straight towards the floor and cut the leg square. ie down the front, down the back and each side. Then make your square into and octagon by taking off the corners. Repeat the process. By the time you have 16 sides around, it looks pretty round, so just tidy it up from there.

For the hind leg I trim short at the thigh and then repeat the instructions for the front legs, allowing for the different slope of the leg. ie, your scissors will not be pointed right at the floor. The goal is to make the whole leg look as straight as possible.

Make sure both the front and rear legs are blended into the body.

Barb, thanks! This is exactly what I needed! Thank you so very much!

I don't believe in using normal straight scissors, but use (and teach Doodle owners to use) special thinning scissors to get a natural look. Grooming is all about seeing the body structure trough the coat by combing up the hairs and grooming your Doodle so that it looks its best. I have taken the grooming proces and cut in into small, easy parts, so that everybody can learn to groom in a professional, natural way, using the right equipment selected for Doodle coats. As soon as I have translated my online workshops I will put them on my DoodleComfort website and you can learn grooming in the comfort of your own home and in your own time and buy the right equipment in my webshop :-)
