I have a 5 month old f1b goldendoodle and his hair is currently wavy. Whenever I brush him, his hair gets really straight and the waves are gone. Is there a brush out there that will let me brush him thoroughly but still keep the waves? Do the Les Poochs brushes do this?

this picture is his hair without brushing... I love the waves... when I brush him, his hair gets really straight and almost frizzy...

Don't the waves come back in a day or so? Halas is kind of the same way. It always takes his hair a day or 2 to lose the poofiness after a grooming. When I brush him at home, he doesn't get quite as poofy as he does after a trip to the groomer, and I do use a Les Poochs brush at home, but I would say brushing still takes a lot of the wave out temporarily. In some other discussions, there's some info about using a little bit of water after brushing to separate the strands a little bit and get that look back. I haven't had a chance to read it in detail, and I can't remember if it's in it's own discussion or just mentioned in a separate one. Maybe someone else will respond with that info.
I use a spray bottle with watered down finishing spray. The spray cuts down on static electricity and has a sun screen too. Dampening the coat helps the more natural look come back. The adult coat will probably be more wavy.
Is finishing spray the same as a leave in conditioner/detangler?
Barb, what kind of finishing spray are you using?
He is an absolute doll! My Maggie has the same kind of coat and the same thing happens to her but the waves do come back right away. Can anyone tell me what kind of coat this is considered? How old is he? My Maggie is 6 1/2 months and about 18 lbs. She is a mini.
Oh my gosh - he is gorgeous.
