the video is the best. my husband is so allergic to none doodles and cats that i look at the video with so much joy because we can't have that kind of scenario in our house. my rosie always wants to chase cats and squarels but the other day a super friendly cat said hello to me on the street with Rosie on leash and i think that confused my Rosie....wait...they are nice too? curious! dogs are so funny.

Tara loves our cat much more than our cat, Amber is taken with her! They do touch noses in cat style as a greeting after everytime they have been apart.(I think the cat taught Tara that this is the proper way to greet someone! LOL!) But I know that Tara would like to play with the cat like she would play with a dog. Once in a while the cat will play chase or hide and seek with her and Tara just loves it!!  I wouldn't say she is obsessed like Yuki though! She still prefers people to the cat for company.  Maybe Yuki was a cat in her previous life!

Candy, did you end up with a feline friend for Hudson last fall?

What a great group but I'm wondering if anyone else has the same situation as us...I don't know if I can say that our doodle, Yuki loves the cats but rather is more obsessed with the cats!  She can't leave them alone and always wants to be with them.  She jumps up on the bed and will lie on the opposite side of the bed of where the cats are and just stare at them, wagging her tail the whole time. The cats on the otherhand aren't too crazy when she's in their faces so she knows to keep a safe distance.  Even when the rest of us(including our other dog) are downstairs, she'll sneak upstairs and hang out with the cats!  I seriously think she thinks she's a cat!

I came on DK to look for some advice (and of course I found it!) regarding adopting a cat into our home. Our local SPCA is over-run with cats and they are literally adopting them out for free to make space. I have a 4 month old doodle and am worried how he would feel sharing his home and his people. We are going to visit today with our pup to see how he reacts to the cats. I would love to give one of those poor kitties a home, so wish me luck :)

Oh, this is a fun group for me! Both of our doodles, Charlie and Fergus love our cat Macaroni. They would probably love our other cat Cricket if she would ever give them the time of day. Cricket was 7yrs old and ruled the roost before Charlie came and when we got Fergus, well, that just added insult to injury! BUT - Macaroni is young and playful and we're pretty sure he thinks he's a dog. They play and chase and have regular "baths" together. If you haven't already, check out my "Kissyface" video I've recently posted.

I'll bet the cat just loves being drug around like that!! Too funny. The cats here are not declawed but Sheba & Duke have such hairy faces that the claws don't seem to bother them. Every time I look at the picture below it makes me laugh! Our cats WANT our dogs to chase them. The cats actually tease them! I am always hollering....NO CATS!! I don't want them to get in the habit of chasing them.

And the cat is declawed, so he's particularly ineffective when batting the dog in the face. He won't even bite her, either. It's amazing how gentle the puppy is with the cat, although we do have to intervene sometimes, like when she tries to drag the cat around by the collar....
