Hi Denise, It's nice to hear from you! Love your photo! Teddy is about the same size as Blaze.

Baxter is a double doodle. His mom is a goldendoodle and his dad is a labradoodle. He is precious. He has been very easy to house break and he seems very smart. He has learned several tricks. He is VERY ACTIVE. He loves his ball and we throw it all the time. He was black when we got him and now he is platium. I keep it short because it matts very easy. He is 11 months old and about 55 pounds. Loves to eat, walk, and just be with us. I am a doodle fan forever!

My red one in the picture is the Double doodle from Jerseydoodle. Her name is Loki. She was born on Dec. 20, 2009..father is Juluis and mom is Big Girl. She is a HANDFUL....Her names means god of mischief and she lives up to her name!! She is non-stop getting into everything and pretending she knows how to to NOTHING----yet she knows everything...and has me FOOLED, but good!!. Her "sister", Shayna, my other dog, is a 3 year old Labradoodle, who adores her. Too much I say and puts up with too much--I wish she would growl a bit at her or bark at her and put her in her place at times...but Shayna and she love eachother...I guess I am lucky...great temperments..Shayna comes from a local small breeder in North Dartmouth. I am thrilled to have found this sight thanks to Rose and her baby Blaze, who looked so much like my Loki, I had to comment to her....and the rest is history....For those who don't know this family of doodles--Loki is a F2B--Personality--Very active,,,bites Shayna's feet, legs, ears, tail especially to catch a ride while swimming (as Loki isn't so fond of the water or chasing to ball, which is what Shayna is doing) but loves to go after Shayna. Loki is very independent. She goes off by herself at times, yet, from day one, always came when I called 100% of the time NO MATTER WHAT she was doing, where she was, good or bad, she comes running to COME-COME. She has a small bit of jealousy in her and likes to get the same pets if you're petting the other dog, but not ridiculous about it, I make her wait her turn or don't give her any all the time if not warranted. Loki gives you those adorable eyes and she knows how to use them!!! LOKI failed 2 week Boot Camp training at age 17 weeks and went back for another week at 6 months--that says it all--it was her stubborn nature not intelligence.....we got it together now sometimes..somedays..maybe...but now I've got you guys for HELP..THANKS

Hi Debbie,
My NAR is Blaze. He's the taller one in the photos. He's an F2b. He doesn't shed. He's a little over 2 years old. I got him from Jerseydoodles. That's him in the profile photo for this group before his first haircut, when he still had his puppy coat. I think he's about 8 months old in the photo.

Hi Debbie! I don't really know that much about the Double Doodles either, but I can tell you what I have experienced. Darbey is our F1B Goldendoodle, she's the white one. I was looking for a red, male goldendoolde when I came across Moose! I had never heard of the Double Doodle or North American Retriever until I found him. I did some quick research on the internet and it seemed like it would be a great dog. I went to "look" at him and of course I wasn't going to leaver there without him! He is so adorable.

There are several differences between my doodles, but the differences could be contributed to several things, such as gender, age, or breed. The F1B is very laid back, very gentle, follows me everywhere. Her coat is more curly, it takes it forever to dry! She would be content just lying by my side and getting her ears rubbed. The Double Doodle is a whole different story! He is very active, pesters the heck out of the F1B, bites her face, legs, neck, tries to hump her constantly. He eats any and everything he can get his paws on. Don't get me wrong, he is very loving and just adorable, but he is much more active than she ever was or will be.

Neither one of them shed at all. The only time I have dog hair in my house is on grooming day. His hair is much straighter and dries almost instantly. He is extremely food motivated. I haven't had a chance to take him to puppy kindergarden yet because of our summer scheudle, but I'm hoping that will help this fall.

I wasn't too thrilled about the breeder that I got him from. She looked really good on her website, but the puppy was sick when I got him home with worms (not normal puppy worms, but the kind that they get from drinking stagnate water) and ear mites. I had to have my other dog treated for ear mites too because they are contagious. We got Moose at 9 weeks and he weighed 9 lbs. He is now 5 months and 28 lbs. The vet thinks he will be 60-65 lbs. Darbey, the F1B is 58 lbs. at 20 months.

I don't know if any of this helps, but feel free to ask any questions you can think of and I'd be glad to help.

I just discoverd "Double Doodles" or the North American Retriever. I'm curious to know more about them.

We have an F1b Goldendoodle (almost 2 years old) and had a hard time deciding between a Labradoodle and a Goldendoodle. I'd love to have a doodle with a little bit of both.

How's the shedding?
How the temperment?

I don't see many breeders on line. If you were really happy with where you got your puppy I'd like to name. I'm not ready to get a new puppy yet but I'd like to start doing the research. As your pups get older I can follow how they are maturing. I'd like to see pics when they are older (over 1 year).

I've looked at some of the members profiles in this group so see some pictures but often there is more than one dog and I'm not always sure which is the Double doodle.

Thanks for any info you can pass along.

Hi everyone! I have a 19 month old F1b Goldendoodle and we just got a new double doodle puppy! He is 4 months old now and just adorable. His mother is a cross between a goldendoodle and a labradoodle and his father is a red standard poodle. My profile picture is not very good, cut both of them off. I'll have to get a better picture! Anyway, I don't know if it is because he's a puppy or a double doodle or just because he's male, but he is a "wild child"! Pesters the heck out of my older dog!

Sounds like Teddy will definitely be a big boy. Blaze is only about 51 lbs at 15 months! Teddy and his relatives are related to Blaze, Lily, Gelert and Cooper too (Julius is the sire), so it will be one big happy family of Double Doodles! The weather here in NJ is a lot more fall like already (temp's in the 70's) and I hope it stays this way!

Hi Denise,
Good to hear from you. I'm glad to hear Teddy is doing well. How big is he now? Blaze doesn't like the hot weather much and I personally can't wait till the fall (my favorite time of year!) He likes to lay on our bed with the ceiling fan blowing on him, and of course the air conditioner when it's really hot! He also loves getting wet and swimming. (lawn sprinkler, hose, pool, river, lake, ocean) He has calmed down a little, but he is still pretty energetic at 14 months! He's most active in the evening. He is also very strong and very fast! Fortunately, we don't have any small children around, so we don't have to deal with that issue, but I've read of other's here on DK who have. There is a new group here on DK called The Doodle Whisperers, you might want to pose that question there, and/or look around in the Forum or Blog posts for information and suggestions. Please keep in touch!

Hi Rose,
Blaze is adorable. There is a breeder nearby us in Manson, IA who has a litter due this week, I feel like I have so many questions, we really just want a smart, friendly dog who will be great around adults and children. Have you had a lot of trouble with Blaze chewing and eating things around the house? That seems to be the most prominent negative behavior with doodles. Can you tell me a little bit about Blaze? I'd love any input you have, thank you!
