what a GREAT IDEA TERI!!~ perhaps you could send me a few pups at a time to 'trial'....I would want to make sure they were 'defective' first :)

LOL* thax I appreciate ur kindness and forgiveness :)
and you are sooo right, the hero is Destini!~ Everyday she reminds me how you and I wanted that 'other' pup ....she says there was just something about him that spoke to her heart...and wow, what a voice he has had ever since.!
sometimes I am not sure who is more attached him, the kids or me :) I came home from work last week, the day Harli & Obi were off 'working' and when I walked in the door, it was the FIRST time I didnt have Obi greeting me.....my heart literally felt a void...I knew immediately that if/when Harli does get her own home, I am going to be hit twice as hard with having them both gone.......I truly cannot imagine life with him...

That is such a gift from God that Obi can do that. Destiny is the hero in all this! I was going to match you up with a different pup before Destiny chose Obi instead. -- I don't remember you begging for forgiveness but if you say you did, I'll let it go -- this time. :)

Oh and Obi became such a AWESOME service dog due solely to GREAT GENETICS :)
last week Harli and her staff were at a provider fair doing some 'work'on self-determination stuff, when Obi jumped up, went over, put his paws on her lap and BARKED AT HER....yep..they knew immediately that Harli needed her snack, her hand was beginning to tremor slightly as her blood sugar was declining...about 3-4 minutes into her snack Obi went and laid down like nothing ever happened :)

Love this - I believe you sent me the story and photos in an email but i couldn't open them on my bberry, and I forgot to go back and get them and comment to you on the computer! Great story - he is, indeed, most defective.... how did he get to be such an awesome service dog!!??? The photos are so great - I'll need to update their webpage on our site. -- hey, you never have said you're sorry for not calling me when you were in TN....

lol* Teri!~ yes Obi is quite 'defective' but I just can't expect his breeder to be saddled with him *sigh* we will do our best to just keep him hehehehe thought you would all love this story...Obi is Harli's service dog, for those that don't know, and recently he amazed us yet again. Harli's life assistant had her at our local park, and had Harli on the merry-go-round spinning and spinning with delight, well Obi wasn't so thrilled about her being on that thing and practically yanked her wheelchair over to get to her (her was tethered to it as usual) well her assistant stopped the merry-go-round and unhooked Obi from the wheelchair, at which time he IMMEDIATELY jumped up on the thing with Harli and put his paw on her!! He proceeded to HOLD HER on the ride, spinning and spinning the whole time, he never let go of her :)
yep that is just one of his many defects :)

By the by, the Kongs are a good toy for young children, too. My kid cousin (2.5 years-old) came over the other day and was looking at the toys for puppy. He saw the kong, dropped the kong, and saw that it bounced. The thrill lasted for all of 2 minutes, but still...that's 2 minutes where you can think of something else to keep the kid safely occupied for another 2 minutes...LOL

Teri, stay healthy. Don't let the season and all its allergens (or Swine Flu) get you down.

As you know, OBI is defective and needs to come back to his breeder! Our kong lasted for years - i think one of the dogs - most likely Delta - buried it becuase they couldn't destroy it and wanted it to disappear forever....

I just wanted to comment about the Puppy Kong...Obi STILL has his, undamaged and in ONE piece :) He is quite the BIG BOY now at 2yrs but has yet to destroy his Kong :) We got him a Kong Frisbee for this summer as well and we are excited about him learning to catch it...he is already catching items on the 'fly' so we are very optimistic :)
