Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I was just reading through some of the wall posts and cracking up. You girls are FUNNY! Bad thing about wall posts is that you can only reply with another wall post.... This thread is just for chatting. There are quite a few members who don't want to participate in the challenge but we'd still love to hear from you and get to know you...
Sooooo, I'm going to start us off...Does anyone else here like to camp as much as I do? If so: Where? What method? How does your doddle do? And what are your best kept camping secrets?

Well, now that type of camping I can probably handle. I thought you meant pitch a tent & do your business in the woods type of camping!
We honeymooned on Kauai. It rained a lot of the time while we were there but even then it was still beautiful! Peter has a gig in New Jersey at the end of June and we are making a weekend out of it. Flying in Friday and leaving mon morning so we will get to have some time to just relax and take in the sights. It is a resort area in Avalon right on the water, so I am very excited about that!
I have never heard of Coronado Island. I am sure you will have a great time! You will have to post pictures!
We really want to go to Kauai. We always go to Waikoloa on the big Island because it doesn't rain...but, it's got more lava rock than the rest of the island. It's a very short drive to the luch rain forest though. I'll post a link sometime tonight. Jersey? Hey there are some beautiful spots back there. You'll have good weather in June too. I'd really love to visit the east coast too. The farthest east I've been is the midwest. Kevin has family in Iowa and Minn. Hey we should start a travel thread where people can post links to their favorite travel spots..
We went to New York in Jan 2010 for a conference. We didn't really get to see any of the sights...we both ended up getting really sick. We did get to see Times Square. The farthest east we have been is St. Thomas. Believe it or not Peter actually got booked there for a private New Years Eve party Dec 2009. It was ok, we heard the other side of the island was better than where we were at.
Where about in Iowa? I had a Great Aunt and Uncle that lived in Audobon and Peter did a concert in Oelwein in 2009 and he has one booked for Maquoketa for 2012. We also had a conference in St. Paul last year. I did not however make it to Mall of AMerica! :) I have a goal to visit every state before I die. Haven't counted them all but I am probably over 2/3 of the way. I would LOVE to take a trip to New England in the fall!
A travel thred would be fun...you can post recommendations of places to stay etc. :)
Well my idea of camping is a Marriott Hotel, see I don't like sleeping in tents my DH and I tried it before we got married, but, all those creepy crawling bugs YUCK No thanks, Yea I am a wimp, so book a hotel on some exotic Island anywhere I will be there>
Donna I too love this Idea do u go to Hawaii alot ! ! !
Hi Donna! We're from Hawaii! Oahu. I am missing it now- it's chilly here!
I grew up there, our family moved to Seattle, met my now husband in Hawaii. We will move back there, i think, someday.
My pups are young , too, but i think that if i bring them downtown (my husband works at the W Hotel when not Teaching) they could get used to new surroundings. At the W, you can even bring your dog to the bar! :) I have'nt tried it yet, i will have to get my pup Storm (black-mini) more socialized first.
Maybe one of these for camping. LOL

Hahahaha.... Ya, if you have no privacy issues.... :-D those are actually pretty cool...That would be neet on the beach if the weather was a bit cold....I'll bet the plastic keeps the heat in...but what about the wind?
Sue, that's the great thing about camping at the beach in Cali. There's no bugs NONE! We love it.
