Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I see that there has been a bit of discussion about this product already, but I think it really deserves another mention.  My mini labradoodle, Gracie, now almost 13 weeks, eats her food (Orijen) like there's going to be no tomorrow...she's been doing this since I got her a month ago.  I found this interactive feeder quite accidentally on Amazon...GREEN (by a company called Northmate). I read the amazing reviews, watched a few of the demo videos on youtube, and decided that this would be THE feeding gadget that I'd want to get.  It's made from a heavy, durable plastic, easy to wash, etc. We used it last night for the first time...it worked like a charm.  It took her almost twenty minutes to eat her 1/3 cup of kibble in this "green machine", as opposed to the usual one to two minutes when I just plopped it down into her dish.  There was no training involved...she was hungry...she went right to it and "leisurely" ate her meal.  She ate her breakfast from it this morning...same story.  This was one of those extremely good purchases...I can see that it would work well for dogs of any age.  Is anyone else using this thing with the same results?

Our breeder recommended this also. Slowed our "inhaler of food" down....no more feeding frenzy! Expensive, but well worth it.
That is cool! I bet its mentally stimulating too

Yep, we have the Green feeder for Oscar. Same story. I timed the first time he ate out of it and it took him 17 minutes. (I also took Flip video of it, but 17 minutes was way too long to post anywhere). Now, after 3-4 months, he's figured it out, and it takes him about 7 minutes. Still, his big sis, Lucy, who is the slow picky eater, always finishes before him. I really love it! I put it in the dishwasher (upside down on the bottom rack near the back) every night and it's good to go the next morning. Worth every penny it cost.

Oh, BTW, just a word of warning regarding the Green feeder. I read a review online that the feeder will break if dropped (pieces can break off), so I try to be very careful when handling it.

I could have used this when Sparky was little. I will remember that for fast eaters in the future!

I have this for my 7-pound 11-year old yorkie Oliver and it works great. My new doodle Hudson doesn't inhale his food, but if he starts to, I will definitely get another.
