Hi all! Moose came home this past weekend and I have attached several pics of him and Loki. They are getting along great but both play very rough together. So I was wondering is this bad? Moose will bit and nip at Loki and Loki will nip back. I can tell Loki is being gentle with Moose and they seem to be having fun. The few times Moose has bitten too hard Loki promptly corrects him which is great! Just wanted to be sure that their rough play is ok. They are constantly supervised and I do crate Moose to make him take breaks- and give Loki a break.

How precious!!!!!!!

Thank you :)

What great pictures, both Loki and Moose are so cute together! I remember bringing Oscar home and worrying that things were getting too rough that first couple days, but Oscar found 'shelter' under chairs and behind furniture when he got overwhelmed with Lucy's play style. By the 3rd day I relaxed and just let them play. One of the biggest challenges I had with having a grown dog and a puppy together was potty training the puppy (Oscar). It was easy to just let the 2 dogs play when the puppy was out, because they loved it so and it kept Oscar out of trouble, for the most part. Problem was, Oscar often slipped into the family room when I wasn't looking and peed real quick and I didn't know until sometimes hours later. I finally got smart and closely supervised their play as well as limited their playtimes together. That, and I tethered Oscar to me when he wasn't playing with Lucy. After that we finally made progress. Good luck, I'm sure you'll have unique challenges of your own!

Thank you! Moose has already found one chair to hide behind which is good because neither one of them lessens the rough housing on their own!

Oh my, so cute. They really are cute together. I love the name Moose. I had an encounter with a moose while hiking in Yellowstone.  I swore my next male dog would be named Moose.

Oh that's cute! I picked Moose because his siblings all have a more "poodle" build and he is just massive under the fluff and completly got the berner build.

I agree with all that have said it is normal.  It can still be a little scary at first!

Here are a few action shots!

They look like they play just like mine! Did you ever try and break it up at all? Sometimes I worry that Loki might hurt Moose even though I have no doubt he is teaching Moose what is good and not. Like the other day Moose nipped at Loki's nose so Loki put Moose's whole face in his mouth, just for a second but that freaked me out a bit... On the other hand Moose hasn't nipped at Loki's nose anymore lol!

Sometimes Micky (the big guy) gets a little tired so we will separate them to give him a break.

Yes, it does look scary sometimes!  Finn always goes back for more.

These pics are right before play and then during.
